Ah, an audi owner having his bum touched..whatever next? I hope hermann returns looking glamourous and toned

as for the polo- they were crap as of the 6n (mk3) the build quality just isn't there anymore

and the allegro, the less said the better (although I do hanker after a maxi)

A Maxi - well if it was good enough for John Lennon to crash one...

So come on then- how is the polo doing MPG wise? bet you'd be impressed with 45mpg, and cheaper fuel per litre too

It won't be here long enough to justify a tank fillup (I hope). Mid-40s is what it is returning according to the OBD but experience suggests VAG built in displays are hit and mess, usually optimistically.

Hermann update - inside the tailgate has corrosion so they are going to replace it completely instead of repair - which is good. The rear washer pump is leaking so they are going to replace that too but with a cost - which is not so good.

But it should be rot free which is the main aspect.

poor show- at least top it up so you can get a figure

thats a shame re the tailgate- although its a common fault on most cars with a tailgate and rear W/W

good news re lack of rot!

Yep - it might mean an extra delay in getting him back though which means I have to extend the Polo temp insurance perhaps, or just leave it on the drive. I'll put £10 in it tomorrow to cover my fuel use.

I can confirm that Marco (the Polo) has swallowed £10 of Sainsbury's cheapest unleaded which has moved his fuel gauge back to where he started. As his fuel gauge is one of those modern ones which LCD segments I can't use it to say it is exactly back where it was, or has more or less.

I can also confirm that whoever at VW decided that the tailgate opening switch should be the VW badge is a moron of the first order.

And VW, is there any chance we can have a colour other than dreary black on the inside somewhere. I'm almost encouraging A Junior to be car sick in it - at least it would add some colour...

I really hate these LCD fuel gauges, they're too unaccurate and poor-looking.
