aww, there there!
do what I do- work out 4 variations on each route/junction so you can alter it on a street by street basis
I'd have a word with my brother, but he's not on the supply side of the business..
At least Herman still works, The Kiev Express is Kaput ![Frown](/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I know it might be extremely controversial, but considering the improvement on fuel-efficiency an EGR delete can be justified. Or it can be just closed altough keeping the valve body and its electronics there untouched to not flash a check-engine light.

A bit of spleen venting, but justified IMHO. Mind you not as bad as city centre Glasgow - watched my average drop from 62 to 38 getting from the M8 to the Grand Central, bl00dy one way system... ![Snail](/forum/images/smilies/snail.gif)

The guy who has done it also did a "de-gunge" of the intake system I think around the same time - will ask them later. Also pondering a remap for economy but at £3-400 it would take quite a few miles to recoup assuming it did make a difference.
Looking back on the last tank I also expected higher - it was 650-ish miles and out of that I did about 250 on a business trip which meant not being in town and therefore should have been better.

An ECM reflashing may eventually lead to some fuel-savings if done properly. That's a good advantage from newer electronically-controlled engines, they can get some interesting performance and efficiency improvements with just a few electronic codes thrown into them. But I would only consider an ECM tuning alongside a full EGR delete, since the ECM can be set to not flash the CEL for the absence of the EGR when tuned...

Could not even leave my house this morning - the driveway was blocked by some truck changing the street lights. They moved it a bit, eventually.
They also cut the trees (that were over 20 meters high) in our street, that was not easy. Weeks of disrupted traffic.
They just finished work on the sewage system(*), opening the sidewalk(**) for about three weeks on end. Luckily they left my driveway accessible - just. Unless they needed a place to store all the road signs and barriers and other stuff. At one occasion I must confess I grew so angry that I threw that stuff in one of their pits.
This all happened this year.
(*) Off topic but nonetheless: they blew through the system three times, each time flooding our restrooms and bathroom and filling the whole house with a perfume of H2S. At or before breakfast time.
(**) Cutting away at it with an angle grinder, which covered our front garden in fine dust and make a stone jump and hit our living room window with a loud bang, but no apparent damage. Yet. You never can tell with glass.
These hard working men are just doing their jobs. There's nothing to it than to sit it out and endure the carnage.

You can understand my method of visiting that fair city, when we were there in 2009.
1) arrive from the north via the Forth Road/M90
2) take the Glascow road/A8. Drive UNDER the ginourmous roundabout at the bypass.
3)Continue on to the next roundabout and Drum Brae. Go left up Drum Brae. Notice I have made one turn so far?
4) Turn left into B&B driveway, and never move rental car again, until ready to retrace steps westward.

I will, next time. I had not found this little slice of creativity at that time.
