It's OK to start eating again once the competition is over, Ben.

Stopped out to the Hampton Beach campground on the Great Sacandaga Lake last week. The beach looks great.
I would recommend all to bring a folding chair with them to the picnic as well. Swim trunks and a towel too if you're so inclined. Let's hope for good weather!

Sorry Blownb310, I was just a little confused as to why my name suddenly wasn't on the roster. This is why I was confused.

Will, post up your definitive food plans so we can let everyone know and have a little get together

I don't know.... 6:30? I don't care when we leave. I will arrive as early or as late as anyone wants. I hereby choose to set off from the hotel in Fonda for Schenectady at an arbitrary 6:30pm on the night previous to the event.
As for the picnic, I will can see what I can do about bringing some vegan num-nums.

Oh, I see now. Sorry about that oversight.

The awards and picnic immediately follow the Economy Run event. We plan to arrive at the finish at 12:00 pm, top up the tanks, and then head 8 miles north to arrive at the awards/picnic area at the lake. I am estimating that this will have us at the Hampton Beach Campgrounds between 12:45 - 1:00 pm. Two hours should be more than enough time to have some lunch and relax [talk about hypermiling] on the beach.

Some updates on my car's preparation for ths event. I took a look at my front brakes two days ago. I raised the car up, made a chalk mark on the tires, and gave the wheels a "spin test" [by hand] and counted three revolutions each side. So I decided to take them apart and clean them. I lubed the slides and found an NOS front disc brake hardware kit in my basement. I took advantage of the kit's extra parts to add a second spring between the pads to help them release more completely.
Normally there is only a single spring on only one of the pins. My unscientific "spin test" yeilded 6 2/3rds revolutions afterwards. Who knows, maybe I spun the wheel a bit harder afterwards to get the desired result.
