Magnetic field separates oxygen from air/nitrogen?!?!

Surely not!?
Could an arrangement of strong magnets on the intake of your air filter really (even slightly) separate out some of the O2 (paramagnetic) from N2 (diamagnetic), making for 02 rich induction!???

Here's the Research Paper Abstract:
https://www.researchgate.net/publica...xygen_from_air

Which brings me to another pet beef/question:
HOW TO GET RESEARCH PAPERS FOR FREE?? form these Tuck-Fards wanting money for research they never paid for???

There's no reason to want more oxygen. Engines and fuel are designed around use with regular air.

Supermagnets are used in silicon ingot growing (CZ) to limit O2 spoiling.

My SWAG is: perhaps only gaseous diffusion in a centrifuge, using the mass differential of the two gases, could separate them. Or cryogenics. One would 'liquify' before the other.
If you managed to get enriched oxygen into the engine, it might just immediately oxidize the first lubricant hydrocarbon it came into contact with.
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like oiling an oxygen regulator on an oxyacetylene welding unit.

One of the major problems in any engine is NOx. If we could solve this problem with a cheap and easy solution then we could go back to lean burn engines and diesels would be able to get way better efficiencies than they do today.

One idea I had (ya, I'm no scientist) was to filter out the nitrogen from the air and then replace it with the CO2 and water vapor from the exhaust. But I found two major problems.
  1. Finding a way to filter out all that nitrogen would take way too much energy making the engine very inefficient.
  2. N2 lends itself to efficiency as it has a higher specific heat ratio than CO2 or H2O vapor.

If only we could cheaply run our engines on bottled helium and oxygen...

Helium? That would cause a high-pitched, squeaky exhaust.

Alright, heliox must be run through an engine, "for science!". Test platforms should include a VW Beetle and a Lambo.

In late-'90s and early-2000s, a device named GasMax was sold in my country, with claims that its magnets would increase fuel-efficiency. It was proven to not be worth a dime.
