Depends on his roads. But his shock absorbers may not appreciate that.

Also being unable to stop and crashing would throw all economy out the window in an instant.

Yeah, I’d like to see his braking distances, in the instance that he had to get it stopped...

Well, he uses space savers.

Those are designed for higher pressures (60 PSI is normal) and have a rounded shoulder, so they will keep flexing a bit even run at extreme pressure and the thread with will get even smaller at those pressures.

I would be very surprised if it affects braking distance more than a bit, as long as you don't lock wheels. If you do they may blow!
Cornering should be better - hardly any side roll and shoulder deformation.

I'm about to put new yoko avid envigor tires on my leaf. I will be running them at no more than about 3 psi above recommend. I don't want to over pressure them and wear the center out 10,000 to 20,000 miles sooner.
Since the difference between normal versus over pressure will only effect the rounding error at about the 100th of a cent level on my operating cost.

True, but probably much more important than operating cost for an EV is range, which tire pressure affects. He's getting around twice the economy most get in an Insight, which could equate to closer to 200 miles range from a Leaf.

Oh yeah he has a great thread. I remember reading all the cool stuff he has done. But at a certain point he is basically driving something with the comfort of a model T. lol
I'd assume he's under 2c/mi so we're splitting hairs here folks. He does look like he's undercutting the most efficient e car by about half a cent per mile though.

Do this in a Model 3 and you might get 6-700 miles per charge. Not that I'd want to do that myself, but I appreciate that someone is.

If I had infinite time and a place to level 2 charge I could make it to Amarillo with my leaf, which is around 110 miles with out running the battery into the red.
But I'm trying to save as much gas as possible and at the same have my leaf last as long as possible with lowest operating costs possible.
That means not over inflating the tires to crazy levels, not charging to 100% every charge, not running the battery below 3 bars, not driving or charging when the battery temperature is above 7 bars.
So I drive a gasoline car when I go to Amarillo.

How often is battery temp high? I feel like its been 110 every day.
