Been gone long time

So I haven't been here for a while.
I've been working. Trying to earn that extra dollar as it were.

GeoPalooza is just over the horizon and I now must concentrate on increasing the comfort level in my car so my beautiful wife will be able to stand being cooped up with me for 9 - 10 hours.

Yesterday was sound install day.
First I put in a factory radio given to me by one of my Chevy Dealer Friends. It was a straight forward install. Pull dash trim. Plug in radio. Bolt in place. Replace trim.
No Pics. I didn't even think about the camera till I was deep into the project.
But I found out I had one speaker working and three were not.
Bummer.
I called around for prices and realized that speakers, even small ones, aren't cheap anymore. (its all those d@mn ricers fault)
So as I was wondering what to do, I got a call from one of my friends who needed help putting his fence back up. Hannah blew it down and now he needs it back. I was able to get four speakers from his garage 2 that are 4.5 inch round and 2 that are 6 inch round. The 6 inch ones were blown badly. Trash.
The 4.5s were still O.K.
Remove interior to access speakers

Cut and fit speakers to existing mounts

Add self drilling self tapping screws

Reinstall all parts and enjoy. Still need to get two more speakers, but hey this works for now.

Today I work on the A/C for my lovely bride. I have gone all summer without and I have felt no ill effects. So what if I get to work sweaty, it is only a matter of minutes before I get sweaty at work. Going home is O.K. there is no sun so it is rather pleasant.

And now for some random pics

This is what happens when you stop faster than the biker behind you

No, not really,
A friend is having trouble so I brought her bike to my house for repair. Neat tow rig don't you think?

This is Buddha, he came over to help me unload the bike.
(I didn't get it in by myself either)

This is the car belonging to the Biker Girl. Notice anything odd about the front?
You are correct. She has a grill block made from black coroplast and side holes covered in duct tape.
HHmmmmmm
Where did she ever get that idea?

Uh Huh

Yes those are the struts from the 97.
I had to drill holes in the hatch for them to work.
But it stays open on its own now so I can leave my stick in the garage.

I knew it was going to be good but was unprepared for that number.

Well I need to fill up in the morning so we can ride up to the lake and meet with the rest of you guys.

Wow! Awesome! Congrats reaching 63.7! I guess your trip to Ricks is paying off...

I love the picture of Buddha. It reminds me of the time a buddy and I found an abandoned engine behind the local strip mall and we rolled it into the back of my Metro and took it home. I miss my Metro. *sigh*

I'm on the computer behind the desk @ Hampton Inn
SSSSSSSShhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thanx for the pat on the back.
This trip is eating my FE though.
I am spending more time keeping SWMBO happy so I am not using much, if any, of my technique.
Also traveling at "Ludicrous Speed" (Dark Helmet)
Eats the mileage like a ravenous dog.
We will have those numbers after the meet when I get home on Monday.
Now I'm shootin for 70 MPG
Watchout boys I'm a comin through!

Schultz! A car transformed. Congrats on the new numbers. That 63.7 mpg tank was the start of something good.
