Ever hear of a Mullet? You still see some of those around here as well!
I did not know there was a middle coast, my bad.

Oh yeah have heard of and seen a few mullets, never did see the appeal of it, kind of like the rat tail, or the rooster doo that a lot of women use to sport back in the 80's

Any way, very cool projects and I will be watching for updates..

We might get another entry in under the deadline.

I originally wanted to mod a Humvee for the competition, but the nights that they guys get together for these things just got too busy for me.

One of the other guys, Sean, might be picking up the torch. Here's the Hummer with a riding lawn mower rear end and a permanent magnet motor belt-driving it.

Here's Gravedigger, as of last night:

Also, I pulled the stock PowerWheels Jeep out of the pile out back. There was no reason to think that it didn't work, just needed new batteries.

I pulled out the old two 6V batteries and replaced them with two 12V batteries.
The Jeep is completely stock, other than now running at 12/24V instead of 6/12V.

Not sure how long the motors and wiring will survive at the higher voltage. Should be good for at least the weekend. I might be able to drive the Jeep at the competition as the pace car!

Also, I built a really stupid hard-hat with a forklift strobe-light on top, running on batteries!

We did great at the Races!

Royce's Gravedigger took first place in the drag race AND the main race.
Sean's "Baby Burrito" Hummer H2 ratrod took second place in the endurance race.
And for the "Builders Award" - all points just from the construction and racing - NOT including the oddly managed fake dollar bill points given from the crowd - Milwaukee Makerspace took 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd place!!!!!

There were two crowd favorite happenings in the PowerWheels races.
One was where a driver hit the tire wall at full speed.

The other was Tom's dramatic Pink Trike FAIL!

In the drag race, it was simply bracketed. Two cars went up against each other, and the winner made it to the next round. We had trouble with Big Jake, so David ended up having to instead drive the STOCK PowerWheels Jeep - the slowest vehicle there, period.

Tom's Pink Trike proved to be the fastest on the qualifying round, so when one of the drag races was going to be the Pink Trike vs the Jeep subbing in for Big Jake, everyone knew who would win, and who would be blown away.

That's when the big surprise happened. See the video for the dramatic drag race.
