Ah... is the
block lean burn ready?
unsure - I know I'm going to need an EGR intake manifold and an appropriate ECU, but I was under the impression that the block & pistons didn't need anything special for lean-burn. Is this incorrect?

Manual, naturally - this is ecomodder.com after all
The code is "P2J-1", year code 96 (had a fun time finding it, the engine this came off was evidently throwing oil like it was going out of fashion), intake side has a "1" in a square, there's also a "4" and "15" stamped near the coolant outlet.
I've put pics up in this thread:

Edit: what ecu do you plan on running?

Any help would be much appreciated! Best place for it would be on the thread linked above. I have just received a P2J-003 ECU, and I have an OBD2A D16Y8 wiring harness on the way, which I was advised would be the simplest to modify. Still looking for a D16Y5 intake manifold to enable EGR - I understand lean-burn with no EGR would be a Bad Thing...
I've heard OBD2 ECUs can't be 'tuned', but I'm planning to run stock-as-a-rock (well, apart from being a complete frankenstien of course, what with the D16 block and all
), so I'm hoping I can keep all the parameters where the ECU wants them by careful selection of injectors and/or fuel pressure.
