Installed a seat warmer a week ago or so. Cheap kind from Canadian Tire that plugs into 12V we got a couple of years ago. The butt died on it last year but the back is nice and warm. Makes all the difference on a cold day.

Noma heavy duty timer with two outlets, I bought them at Canadian Tire 2 years ago. I had to buy 4 to get 2 that worked right so quality control on the display was bad. At least the return policy is good there, no problems. Once you get a good one they seem to take a beating though.
No batteries to install, these charged off the wall for a few minutes, then you can unplug and program them to your liking. So there's a rechargeable battery in there somewhere. 20 different program slots.
The one in the trunk doesn't see much stress but the one in front of the radiator and behind the bumper sure does. Even with the grille block 'protecting' it from the elements. Working great so far.

I've had a slow leak from one of my heater hose connections making me crazy for a few weeks. I thought I had it fixed on Christmas day, but using a second hand hose clamp came back to bite me in the butt.  I wasn't at home so had to use what I found.
A few days ago I noticed the Civic was down on coolant again so I vowed to fix it this weekend. Dumb idea. It's way too freakin cold out there. I fixed it anyway and froze my butt off. Well more like my fingers. 
I need a garage! It's -27C!
I managed to get away with not draining the coolant since both the new and old clamp were the screw type. I made sure the replacement was tight. Bled the air out (yet a-freakin-gain) and now all should be good!

Whee! See? We're really good at cold and mosquitoes in Manitoba!
On an interesting note my solar hot air panel is still warming the house today even with these temps. Too bad the sun isn't up for long.

I'm back in the car now once in a while and tracking fuel numbers again. Ack, terrible. I'm not the one driving the car most of the time... AKA mileage kiss of death...

I am sorry about your accident, but glad that you are recovering. Metro, thanks for the conversion! I started doing that in my head, but the negative numbers confused me! 
I thought "If only it was -40°, then I would know what temperature it is!" 
So, I wondered, what is the zero point of the Fahrenheit scale?
The coldest temperature that he could create in the library. I wish that he had made water freeze at 0°F and boil at 180°F, or the scientific community had adjusted it accordingly.
Anyway, are cold and mosquitoes mutually-exclusive?
