Fueled up this morning. 26.53mpg, a hair down from the last tank. Not where I want it, but I wont complain as long as it stays over 24(10km/litre).
Spark plugs arrived a couple of days ago, as did a fuel filter. They'd probably be in, but I have been locked out of my "shop", where all my tools reside...
Remember my mentioning crack-heads? One broke in to my work-shop a few weeks back. Didn't get much before my alarm scared him off. I had to put a pad-lock on the damaged door to ensure it wouldn't get broken in to as easily again. I guess mr crack-head didn't appreciate it, because he - or someone else? - filled the padlock's cylinder with glue.
My grinder is on the other side of that door. As is a steel security door that I got a smoking deal on to replace the damaged wooden door. The locksmith is coming to let me in and to at least provide me with decent deadbolts. Maybe I can wrangle him in to helping me hang the door...otherwise I will do it ASAP this weekend.
I'm moving my grinder to somewhere where I can get access to it no matter what...

That bites!
Keep the grinder handy... to throw at crackheads busting into your shop.

Put those spark plugs in on the weekend. For comparison:
I didn't notice at the time, but there's a heck of a lot less carbon on the old ones than there used to be. "Proof" that she's running better. It also looks like I need to change that valve cover gasket, if the oil on them is any indication.
Also did an oil change...
I went with 5w30 instead of 10w30. It seemed to make sense that since I do short trips (15km) that it would be beneficial to run an oil that is thinner, since the engine isn't fully warmed up for half of the trip.
Cold engine performance has been notably restored. I was assuming it was all about the spark plugs...but I had completely forgotten about the oil viscosity until this morning. Either or both are to thank for the perkiness of my engine when cold. (Or maybe it just likes the brand of gas I filled up with.)
Hopefully it makes a difference to my gas mileage.

Your updates are giving me the itch to do some more work on mine.
I haven't even pulled the spark plugs on it! Couldn't find the right socket when I thought about checking.
Did you get back into your shop?

That's on of the main reasons I hang around on this and a couple of other car forums...it (eventually) gives me the "itch"! Wish I had motor-head friends to do the same.
I suppose you could call it "inspiration"...?

Indeed! On Friday morning. Just in time for the long weekend. I put my almost-new door on that night:
All steel. Commercial grade deadbolt. Lock/jamb protector doohickie.
Still considering adding another layer of defense to it.
Maybe I should have left it rough/unpainted. Now I'm going to have to give the door jamb some attention and paint.

I don't appear to have a dedicated thread to it. Feel free to make one. Or I will, and maybe you can shunt that post over to it. However it works...

I just put my half-full jerry can in the trunk of my Miata. I'm trying to hit 400km before refilling.

Been wondering why everything I order from Hong Kong - ie LED bulbs - is taking so long...
Delivery delays: Online customers waiting months for orders from China | CTV Vancouver News
Over 100 trailers full of mail siting outside of Canada Post's sorting facility!
It used to take ~2 weeks when I ordered from HK. Now I'm lucky to get it within 3 months.

Thanks. That explains where the bicycle handlebar mirror I ordered is.
