So I got really bored yesterday because it was to cold to ride my bike so I got creative and build a hot air intake and a hot box to collect the air. I got te headers from y friend for 20 bucks, I wanted to replace my clogged up cat converter. So I put the headers on and used spark plug non foulers to space my secondary o2 sensor and it doesn't have any codes and goes into lean burn way way better now and has a noticeable gain in power as well! But here is the hai. I used my old 240sx intake and and integra/ civic intake, and some coroplast and tin to make the box. Ill report back soon with some numbers of mpg increases. So far the headers have added a 1-3 mpg gain. more maybe depending on the weather I suppose.
Nice! But watch your IAT carefully. Especially once it gets warm out. Report back. Looking forward...

Hey, first off my IAT isn't hooked up to the intake and second off is there something I should be concerned about? I just figured the hotter the better. It seems to be real nice in the sub 40 degree weather but is it dangerous in like 100+ ? Oh and I don't have anything to read my IAT anyways
How do you expect your computer to calculate proper fuel usage when you deprive it of the sensors it needs to do so? Plug the IAT back into the intake!

No, not at all. By putting it on the coolant hose, you're now telling the engine that your air is super warm (nobody runs WAIs to 175F as far as I know) and its probably retarding your ignition which reduces efficiency. This is all without the actual benefit of having warm air. So, you're getting the worst of both worlds.
Well dang thanks for letting me know. So what is the temp if any that it will be harmfull to FE? I know people like to fool their IAT sensors to lean the car out. That why I was doing it
