Yes, me for one. 71.4 mpg over ~120K miles, most of which was not driven slowly. (Steep mountain roads and traffic on I680/I580 were about the only real slow parts there.)

All these emissions are per mile. If a motorcycle emits more 30% less CO2 per mile, AND gets 2X better fuel economy, then it'll release (approximately) 37% more CO2 per gallon burned. This is if you take the view point that gas is a finite resource and it'll be burned anyways.
Would emissions regulations help? A modern car has nearly eliminated the majority of emissions except C02. And now there are regulations in place to increase fuel economy and lower C02 by 2027? I see no reason why a motorcycle can't be cleaner than a car.

Now that EFI and catalysts are getting mainstream even in low-displacement motorcycles, the difference in emissions per gallon is getting lower.

This cannot be correct. CO2 per gallon will be about the same. It might even slightly less for the motorcycle since it had higher HC and CO percentages.
.
I would like to see them try the myth again with Vetter style streamlining on a CBR250R which is much more fuel efficient, has an O2 sensor, and a much larger cat.

Correct on the CO2 and CO. CC's do work to burn those hydrocarbons that don't quite find all the oxygen they need.
