If states taking Washington at its word is a failure, it's Washington's failure.

Those briefings led Congressional leadership to dump their stocks, but didn't lead them to contradict the prez. What are the states to do when the word from Washington is that everything's good? The governors weren't allowed in to those briefings, and shouldn't have to be. We have Washington and its resources so that we don't need to have 50 CDCs and CIAs.

This is how I see it, Dr. Fauci and anyone else that can correctly interpret data are saying: "Mr. President, this is an existential threat to the U.S. and entire world. If we don't act immediately, hundreds of millions will suffer, millions will die, it will ruin the economy, and--will you please put down your phone?! Are you tweeting again?!"

[Looking for a fake Turnip tweet generator was way better than just looking for a fake tweet generator. I needed to do all of the work the first time!]

Neither you nor the generator you found use enough caps to really pass as real.

And please stop calling him Turnip, it's exactly the opposite. Many people may not like turnips, but they are good for you.

What is the purpose of a fake Trump tweet generator?

Sowing discord in the populace is the only thing I can see.

Not enough material in the real tweets?

The discord is already being sown. No fault in pointing it out and making fun.

Actually we know today. CDC statements vs White House statements:

https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2020...-cdc-timeline/

The closed door briefing with the CDC that caused members of congress to dump their stocks happened in January 24.

Fat Charlie, I hear you, but I am not saying his name.

I try to avoid using all caps, bold, etc.

"Why are we shouting?!"

When did Washington know that they had a problem? Reading this, I do not know how much earlier they should have made the announcement, but I have more articles to read: 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Washington (state)

freebeard, you think he is pretty. I get it. Nobody is perfect. As Fat Charlie pointed out, nobody will believe that it is a real tweet, it lacks all caps.

The real question is: Why didn't he listen to experts like Dr. Fauci earlier?

Here Trevor Noah is a better reporter than many that I see:
This is also well-done:

I don't. Reading my mind may not be your strongest power. Who is 'pretty'? Our President, it turns out, is a dead ringer for Genera Patton.

Do you doubt I could go looking and find a twat that doesn't have any all caps?

A realer question is why you ignore the Doctor's tamping down that speculation.
Quote:
Fauci has similarly credited Trump with approving travel restrictions that he argued were critical to tamping down the initial spread of the virus in the U.S. and on Tuesday said during a radio interview Trump was not to blame for testing delays that have welcomed scrutiny.

But he has been unafraid to chime in with a dose of reality even when it cuts against what Trump himself has offered to the public.

The president for weeks told the public to “relax,” insisted the government had the virus “under control” and suggested it would go away “like a miracle.” Fauci on Sunday, speaking moments after Trump left the briefing room, cautioned that “the worst was yet ahead.”

During a meeting with pharmaceutical executives this month to discuss a possible vaccine, Fauci played the role of educator for Trump, who appeared to misunderstand the timeline of when a coronavirus cure might be viable.

“So he's asking the question, ‘When is it going to be deployable?’” Fauci said. “And that is going to be, at the earliest, a year to a year and a half, no matter how fast you go.”

People in the health community say Fauci’s role has been important and note that the White House has not pushed back on or silenced the top health official after he has contradicted the president.

So I listened to the Trevor Noah clip. Not bad. He didn't push talking points at all. I put it to one of the beneficial effects of everyone's eyes being opened.

In somewhat related news, Harry and Meghan coudn't get the President to pay for their security when they moved to [cap-l]A before his term[s] of office end[s].

It's hard to find [L]s to copy. Thanks Le_rOoStEr
