freebeard, I watched the video, and like the design, but do you know if there is a final answer on whether any vacuum bags aren't made with fiberglass? I cannot find anything and nobody else seems to, either. It seems like either people are assuming they are safe because nobody has said they aren't (except for California warning of a cancer risk), or assuming that all of them are bad and not having a source, just writing in all caps.

Turnip said that wearing a face mask was voluntary and he wouldn't. Are any world leaders wearing them?

"Even as he is hailed as a hero by his crew, the fired commander of a coronavirus-stricken U.S. aircraft carrier is being reassigned while investigators consider whether he should face disciplinary action, acting U.S. Navy Secretary Thomas Modly told Reuters on Friday." -Reuters

"World Bank Group President David Malpass on Friday said the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic was expected to cause a “major global recession” that would likely hit the poorest and most vulnerable countries the hardest." -Reuters

"Nearly 4 billion people, or roughly half the world's population, is currently under some sort of order to stay at home - NYT" -BNO News

I have been following BunkerJohn's posts on Imgur. I have shared bits and pieces here, including in this post. One day I went to find the actual links for sources and all of them came from the same article. He said that he is taking a break and people criticize him for having Patreon and other links for monetary donations, saying that he is just using other people's information.

I do not know how long it takes to make twenty-six screen captures and post some news summaries, but he is taking a break for two days, and then cutting back.

B2 Passat, actually. The B1 had an unbeveled hood front edge and 7" round headlights. Supposedly inspired by the NSU RO80. The big differences are the non-rotary engine and twist-beam rear axle.

Bigger than a Beetle, with nicer upholstery.

Can't prove a negatory, so why try?

As for the carrier, loose lips sink ....naval careers?

Washington Governor Jay Inslee wearing a homemade mask today after the CDC recommended them. (He also announced that Washington State has extended their stay at home order to May 4th.)

I will likely do the same going forward. When I went to work yesterday I wore my RZ mask but it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable after an hour or so. (Still better than a non-vented N95 mask)

RZ Mask:

Around half a million Chinese people, some of them infected with coronavirus, entered America from December to February at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak, new figures show.

The numbers, which were obtained from Commerce Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection records, were compiled by ABC News.

They show that in the three month period when coronavirus was raging across China, 759,493 people entered the U.S. from China.

This number included 228,000 Americans who were returning home, meaning that roughly half a million were Chinese citizens or people living in China who were visiting the U.S. for tourism, business or to see family.

This number of people were pouring into the U.S. while the World Health Organization was simultaneously insisting that no country should enforce any kind of border controls to stop the spread of the virus.

President Donald Trump restricted travel from China from February 2nd onwards, but that was too little too late because the outbreak (which was subsequently covered up by China for two months) had started in Wuhan in November, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Government Accidentally Shuts Itself Down With Ban On Non-Essential Businesses
March 26th, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congress has asked all non-essential businesses to limit their hours or close entirely for an undetermined amount of time.

But this shutdown mistakenly shut down the most non-essential entity of all: the government. For a brief period of time, all government in the United States was illegal, since it is completely non-essential to everything.

"Oops," said Senator Mitch McConnell. "We meant non-essential private businesses.
....
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said she would have caught the mistake but had passed the ban in a hurry, saying, "We had to pass the ban to see what it did."

I have a ventilator from Home Depot or somewhere. I do not know what it is rated, but it should do something--especially socially, since I have not seen anyone wear anything besides a mask or bandana.

Supposedly these links state that there is no known risk from fiberglass inhalation, although it does not sound like a great idea:

Newsflash 2: many US universities have become bloated with administrators and relies on overseas student tuition (usually 20+k/semester extra in state schools) to stay afloat (a lot of schools are going to close in the coming drepression), winter break and summer break are by far the highest volume of travellers from China (and a few other countries you may be able to guess) as a result. Did you know 3 million Chinese tourists visit the US every year?

Newsflash 3: Numerous cases were imported from Europe in March. I know people who travelled to Italy and such and waltzed right through JFK back into the city as late as March 12th, some who had fever and dry cough.

Newsflash 4: Instead of repeating the sensationalist headlines, actually reading the articles that say "CHINA LIE! WE WEREN'T PREPARED BECAUSE OF THAT" turns up zero new information (and yes I was reading the right wing articles). Without RT-PCR tests (first available January 12 + lag time for the test itself), it is true that there is no conclusive evidence of human-human transmission...whether that is a prudent thing to tell the public or not is a different story.

Either way, that was January...in February they reported tens of thousands of cases appearing in under 2 weeks, and now people are saying "we weren't warned!"???? What?

Partisanship lets leaders get away with doing a horrible job, and is bringing us down the path to civil war. De Blasio is responsible. Feinstein is responsible. So are Loeffler, Abbott, Trump. Be objective and don't indulge confirmation bias if you want civilization to still be around.

If you are looking for filtration materials, try high merv pleated heater filters, some filter 1/2 micron and about $5 for a couple square ft area.

Don't breath fiberglass. Surfboard makers got lung issues back in the 70's, as did most other 'glass fabricators. Way too expensive to add glass to vacuum filters when spun polypro is cheaper.

Superbugs without the special fuel tube hose catch fire suprisingly fast with alky laced fuel. I had new German black hose let go 2 months after install.
How have you not had to replace your hoses in the last 20 years?

Like your shock tower brace bar. If you triangulate them to the hole in the body center of the tank brace, it totally stops the superbug shake.

Bandana. No fuss, no muss.

Are banks letting people in with masks nowadays? Do they tackle the guy that wanders in without a mask?
