This looks promising: Early peek at data on Gilead coronavirus drug suggests patients are responding to treatment
Quote:
A Chicago hospital treating severe Covid-19 patients with Gilead Sciences’ antiviral medicine remdesivir in a closely watched clinical trial is seeing rapid recoveries in fever and respiratory symptoms, with nearly all patients discharged in less than a week, STAT has learned.

Talking. He accomplished lots of talking.
From the article that I linked in #744:

[I]ncreasingly, physicians are trying other measures first. One is having patients lie in different positions — including on their stomachs — to allow different parts of the lung to aerate better.

Some doctors moving away from ventilators for virus patients
A lot happens in three days.
This was on the news a couple of days ago:
Quote:
A Phoenix man is the first in Arizona to survive COVID-19 through a rare form of treatment called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy.
Enes Dedic, 53, was on the brink of death with a ventilator until his doctors at HonorHealth used ECMO as a last resort. Dedic is among the first U.S. COVID-19 patients to survive the disease by using the treatment and is among around 10 worldwide.
ECMO works by helping oxygenate blood outside the body so blood doesn't need to transfer through damaged or filled lungs. Instead, tubes carry blood from the body to an external artificial lung that removes carbon dioxide and adds oxygen, at which point an artificial heart pumps the blood back into the body.

"It was either ECMO or death for him:" 1st Arizona patient survives COVID-19 with rare blood treatment

That is what he did in February. Is saying you'll do something the same as doing something?

I do not know about that guy, but I said that I was going to call a family, put together a couple of packets, drop them off, and notify the families, call another family, and resubmit my progress reports all on Monday, I am sure that I could have, but a squirrel ran by or something.
Eh. I spent two days trying to get scheduling Zoom sessions to work. If I use the program it doesn't send the invitations. If I use the website it tells them that I am offline and doesn't tell me they are trying to connect, so I need to send out dozens of invitations each week. My supervisor just said to set up the schedule and not remind them, we are busy.
If my kids do not connect I am just sitting there, wanting to do my job.
I still should have done all of that stuff on Monday even with difficulties. I really need to focus.

I went to IRS.gov to check on the status of our COVID 19 checks. The IRS said they didn't have my direct deposit info even though they successfully withdrew my taxes owned on the 10th.
Apparently the IRS doesn't have direct deposit info for some people that filed with Turbo Tax or H&R Block.
Also, my parents received their $2,400 direct deposit 2 days ago. As retirees living on a pension, annuity, and Social Security their income hasn't changed at all so the money will just stay in the bank. Zero stimulus to the economy.
If you want to check your status:
Go to IRS.gov
Click "Economic Impact Payments"
Click "Get My Payment"
Click "Get My Payment"
Click "OK"
Enter your info.

One of my friends said they found the payment had been deposited into their account today.

Maybe De Blasio is racist and doesn't care if muslims spread the virus in their communities. Or maybe they're the only group fully complying with the orders and don't need to be included in these threats.
I've seen plenty of ministers on TV bragging about holding services. Some of them are even on TV a couple weeks later because they're dead.
Do we have reports of mosques staying open?

Interesting read on how we're "bending the curve". Or not.
Testing, and confirmed cases, increased. And now everyone's excited that the confirmed cases aren't rising as fast as they once were. But that's because the testing isn't increasing as much as it once was. If virus spread were really slowing, the percentage of tests coming back positive should be decreasing, but it isn't.
