Thanks guys!

I always laugh at "tire noise" how much that matters to people. I have never heard a quiet nor loud tire.

Well I wound speeding up my plan to get new tires. Was chaning my oil and noticed a nail in one of my front tires right on the edge of the tread. The shops said it was not in a patchable area so I weighed my options.... $100+ for one tire to be put on the car or get a full set and all the perks that come along with a set of 4. Knowing I need to replace a tire rod (requiring an alignment) I decided to get the full set of 4 with a free alignment voucher good for 30 days!

I wound up going with Michelin Defenders on the HX wheels. Not seeing anything too noticable on the highway thus far, but it seems slightly better at slow speeds. Probably more the HX wheels than anything.

I was happy with the deal though. After rebates and such, I only spent $380 on the set, installed with an alignment voucher! (lifetime balancing and rotation included!) Not to shabby for a 90k mile tire.

Probabably too many mods close together to really narrow it down, but it seems to have added 1-2 mpg. Probably closer to 2mpg. Rolling seems much better as well.

Wet tracktion is better than I expected. Road noise has never bothered me so I am the wrong person to ask on that. It does not seem louded than before, but my hatchback has alot of road noise regardless of the tires. handling much much better. Tires both were inflated at 44 psi and man these defenders are great! I am a pretty agressive driver on turns and they are much better than I expected.

Sorry for not having any tests ging along with it. I have a 5 month old son who gets most of time right now.
