Don't know about frontal area and CdA.
So they've caught up with the 1996 EV1, and just short of the 1990 Cd 0.196 ROVOMOBIL cardboard and duct tape special, and Cd 0.195, 1978 Daimler-Benz' M-B C-111 III ( M-H ).
Glad to see it!

Could you make any guesses to why it’s highway mpg still doesn’t beat the Hyundai Ioniq hybrid blue? Wouldn’t a cd that low with a stronger engine mean better highway mpg? Why can’t they get their highway to match the Ioniq hybrid?

As EPA mpg values are often 'under-reported', and often exceeded in the real world driving, I'll reserve judgement until independent reporting comes in from third parties.
Even the EPA is transparent enough to report that 'your results may vary.'
Remember, they attach fudge-factors which attempt to correlate EPA dynamometer results to actual driving.

DCT efficiency on the highway. CVTs are efficient in town though so it usually makes up the difference on avg

Now you've got me wondering... assuming exactly the same gear ratio between DCT and eCVT in the exact same car, traveling say 70 MPH, what is the difference in efficiency?
How do transmission losses compare between DCT and the planetary gears found in an eCVT?

I'm really digging the styling. It's like they took the 2nd gen and made it look good. Can't wait til these are available cheap second-hand, in about 10 years.

Aesthetically, everything since Gen II has been fine. This is an improvement mostly by not having some shocking styling choice that will not age well.
Is the Prime version going to qualify for any federal tax subsidy? I might be willing to buy new if there happens to be an oversupply and the price is right.

That will be subjective. For example, I think the Gen4 is hideous.

Gen 4 looks like a spaceship fighter and cool. My friends think the old Priuses look like “ tampons”. Then again we are all millennials and like sharper cars versus sissy cars

Speak for your Millennial self. Maybe a few decades will bring some perspective.

Will we ever see Prius black-light posters?
I thought the original Prius, with it's tall, narrow rear end looked like a Spanish Galleon.
