Nope, not Wall Drug. I stopped there once, won't again. This was a Mobil station or something in Rapid City, right off the interstate. Looked like a normal but large gas station on the outside, and inside there were a bunch of mounted bear, elk, moose etc. in the convenience store, and then a whole other back room with zebra, gazelles, a gnu, and other African game. I assumed the owner was a hunter and needed a place to show off his stuff.

If it's in a heated garage why not use grid power for the block heater?
A 600 watt block heater is going to use about 5 cents worth of power every hour it's on.

It really sounds like you need a warm air intake.

There's no plugs in this garage lol. It's a community garage for my apartment. I might be able to run a light socket to plug conversion into my tiny little storage unit's light bulb.

Where do I start with a warm air intake? Just run some ducting back to the exhaust manifold?

That interior looks like, and your geographical description really kinda sounds like Flying J out there, but there's no trophies anymore. It's a truck stop with a restaurant, casino and bar now.

Edit: My girlfriend says that it's here, but I've never seen it and the one she's saying it's in, I've never noticed anything there. So I have no idea lol.

You can start a warm air intake by removing the factory cold air snorkel.
Then the engine will draw warmed under hood air.
The engine will warm up faster giving you better fuel economy, the warmed air vaporizes fuel better burning more completely also giving better fuel economy.

You do realize this guy probably paid well over $100,000 to African game preserves to shoot a few common animals.
He has already done more to protect lions, rhinos, elephants and other endangered species than any of us ever will.
That money pays game wardens and the African game preserve wardens straight up murder poachers on site, they don't arrest them and put then on trial they just shoot them.
As of 2015 about 2/3 of white rhinos were on privet land or game preserves, protected by game wardens largely paid for by rich @$$ holes who like to legally hunt exotic animals.

Might be a quick fix but I don't think that'll do too much with where my intake is at - it's on the far passenger front, directly behind the headlight. I moved the snorkel, but it's only about 6 inches long, just a sharp curve. I just drove 25 miles, hopped out, and stuck my hand in that space - there's no discernible difference in temp. I think it's too far from the main engine. I'm gonna have to create a custom duct that runs down into the engine interior for any real difference.

That's a really hard question to answer... I'd say that the threat of icy weather is there for maybe 7 months out of the year.

I'm pretty sure we have had 1 or 2 done on a car the same as yours.

I've poked around a little, but if there's a way to narrow search by vehicle type, I've yet to figure it out.
