Dirt Roads, no problem, lets go.

Anyway, I got to thinking about this "EcoRun". Did you know Ashtabula County has more covered bridges than any place in the USA? We could do a "Covered Bridge Tour" and stop at 4 or 5 of them to take pictures and stuff and work our way back to the meet area. A few of them are on dirt roads and I try to avoid dirt roads when possible, but there are some nice ones on paved roads also.
What do you think of this idea instead of just going to the lake and back? Maybe even include Lake Erie as one of the stops?

I like the idea,
after my recent trip, I am sure no one will have any trouble with the dirt roads.
If I can climb a mountain, over dirt, on two cylinders, sometimes at 45 degree climb, then anyone else can also.
See you there,
Schultz

I think the hint is that driving around to look at covered bridges is kind of unrelated to an eco gathering WITHOUT making an mpg contest out of it

I've been following this thread and have gone from 'tempted' to 'probably going to show up because it's a reasonable trip for a day.'
Maybe I'll try to get some more coroplast in the next couple weeks, and test some skirts or something....

One of the reason I want to go "Road Trip", can finally get an all-highway Mpg estimate. Plus will be nice to meet everyone face to face and check our some eco-rides.

I am not sure how to work in a MPG contest or even if we are going to do something like that or not. I guess we will see what happens! I am currently mapping out our "Ecomodder Covered Bridge Tour" to make it efficient, yet practical. I am thinking will will visit 5 or 6 of them on the Eastern side of Ashtabula County so we don't run all over the county needlessly. Most of them are on dirts roads though so I guess washing the cars would be a waste of time unless I route us all to the car wash at the end of the tour
Here is a map of the Ashtabula County Covered Bridges..................
I will get a route planned for us shortly. I say we take mostly back roads, and keep our speed at around 45-50 MPH tops to be fair to the guys with auto transmissions. We will actually go right by my house since I am just south of the Caine Road bridge.
Updates coming soon!
P.S. whokilledthejams, we would be honored to have you! So far you would be the only New York resident attending right now. You are actually closer then most of the people coming.
