I wrote to them, asking where I can buy it. I'm hoping for relatively short periods of 1500amps, like beating people off the line on the way to the grocery store. 1500amp would have around 3-4kW of waste heat, and as I'm not making it water cooled, you might not want to do that all day. Or make a big cold plate.

I couldn't find that one on a web search but a similar one is about $200 - so not too scarey

I have found it takes about 800 amps to take my truck nicely off the line. 1500 amps will be plenty robust

They just wrote back to me, saying I can order the 3 SBE 450v 1600uF capacitors directly from them. Could we try $500 each per person at the moment, and then I'll either ask for a little more, or return the unused amounts after ordering things? I'll keep careful receipts. I think it will save on shipping for everything to come to one place. There are several items that are all from different places. Copper sheet from one place, nomex sheet from another, standoffs from McMaster Carr, aluminum plate from another, electronics from Mouser/Digikey etc...

LOL, NOT for the capacitor. $500 more from you guys For the whole controller. I still don't know what they are going to ask for it, but it's the same dimensions as the 600v 1000uF capacitor.

My bad I guess I could have read your whole post before flying off the handle
How do you want the $500 sent?
Also I am going to need your mailing address so I can forward the igbts.

You could paypal the money to billing@paulandsabrinasevstuff.com. That should leave at least a solid $400 after fees. haha.

If you like I can throw a check in with the igbts - than you won't have to pay paypal.

Hey, that's using your noodle. I forgot that you were going to ship them to me anyway. That would work.

Much as it would be fun to do my own, I think I shall take you up on the offer to assemble. That way I get top quality craftsmanship and the finish product gets scoped.
