That was very thoughtful you guys.

I'm almost done with the schematic for the board now. The routing might take a couple days. The nice thing is, I've had each sub-schematic made before, so I know it will work. Well, I've never tested the higher amp modification to the opto/driver, but it's right from the datasheets, with the parts they recommend, so hopefully it won't be a problem.

I still haven't worked out the cost of parts yet. I was wanting to assemble at least 1 of them. I don't mind doing all 3, but if anyone wants to try it themselves, they sure could. I will need to do some testing on a completed one to look at waveforms and timing, etc...

EDIT: Ya, that could work. I should have a good idea for parts by then, and maybe I could get stuff to you to take with you if you wanted to assemble it yourself. There is some precision drilling necessary.

You are doing too much work for nothing.. so i'll assemble my own..

I have a milling machine, lathe, the works.. so drilling is no problem also..

I guess I only need a PCB and some instructions... will order the parts myself then..

Hi Jedsmd

$133 sounds good - only should I pay more? - postage to NZ is going to add a bit of cost

I was going to forward the whole box of igbts to Paul and eat that postage cost. If these are to be shipped to all corners of the globe than yes I will ask you guys for help with the postage.

Edit:
If Paul is going to be shipping other parts to you guys I think it would make most since for me to get these to Paul and let him include them in boxes he is already sending, rather than sending separate international posts.

It's getting complicated..

to summarize:
- Jedsmd bought 6 igbt's
- Paul has 6 igbt's

So Jedsmd is covered for the cost of the IGBT's, so if:
- Flores pays Paul $133 for the IGBT's and
- Duncan pays Jedsmd $133 for the IGBT's

then we are covered for the IGBT's right??
Jedsmd will ship the IGBT's to Paul, and we will see from there what the addional costs of the rest + shipping will be..

Agreed?

EDIT:

Hmm something doesn't add up.. 6 IGBT's were $360 right? then where does $133 come from?? Should be more

Including shipping, the 6 igbts were right around $400. 3*133 is around $400, so that's just dividing up the cost of them among 3 people. No one should have more than $133 removed from their bank account when all is said and done. If both flores and duncan send jedsmd $133, then all 3 of you will be out $133. Jedsmd sends me the IGBTs, and then I send out 3 controllers, with 3 IGBTs per controller. That leaves me with 3 left over when all is said and done. I had planned on donating all 6 of the ones I have, but now I have an extra 3 at the end, so I'm more than happy!

Hey Paul are you building a 2000amp motor controller and not telling me ? Jack Bauer needs amps!
