I'll do yours too, Duncan. Finnish man, I think you want to do your own. That's not a problem with me. haha. Just let me know when it's finnish(ed). Actually, you don't have to let me know when it's done, I just love finland. A good chunk of me is from Finland.

I guess if you are doing two the third is not that much more work? So could you please do that too?

I hate paying paypal.. they charge like 7 percent.. thats almost $45 on 500$.. is there something I can order on your address for the amount? The capacitors maybe?

How in the heck did I get it stuck in my head that you were finnish? haha. Oh well, dutch people are OK too I guess.

That's not a bad idea about the capacitors. Oh, and I'd be more than happy to assemble yours too.

Here's the email for the person that's in charge of giving me a quote:
jaimep@sbelectronics.com

They haven't gotten back to me yet, but you could just write to them and do the order and ship them to my house. If it's too much I can always reimburse you so everything stays even.

Good to see some intensive posting in this thread again
For EU guys there's an idea to buy SBE capacitors direct from Future to save on overseas shipping (weight!) and customs because they send from their european warehouse; last year I paid $216 for capacitor delivered to my door without any customs or taxes. Today there're 2 caps in stock

edit: Oops, I didn't notice you're talking about 1600uF, I had smaller one in my mind (1000uF). Typing faster than thinking...

Hi Paul

I have sent the $500 - if more is needed - that's life - I'll just have to pay again
I will definitely take you up on your offer to do the difficult stuff

I know a ton more about electronics than I did before I got into this -
now I KNOW I'm ignorant!
Before I just thought I was.

Did you get a response Jesse?

I tried to contact Paul separately, not sure if I was successful. We are looking for knowlegeable people who can work with us to develop these for our needs, with good possibility of having financing to pay wages, and maybe future royalties etc. We are NOT a big well-financed project but are confident we can do it.

Did anyone answer your request?

Besides my just being nosey, I'm looking for an open source DC controller kit. Perhaps ... maybe ... I could (with much difficulty) roll my own but it's SO MUCH easier to start with a kit!
