I won't take anything less than 3 insults for it!
I'll be the first to admit that my asking price may be slightly "aspirational". You gotta start somewhere, and I'd like to break even on the car. I'll adjust the price if all I get are insults and/or crickets this week.

I have only sold one car, but I asked more than I wanted, so I had room to negotiate down.
The guy who bought my car sold houses for a living. I think he had more experience negotiating than I did.
It wouldn't make sense for me to get a white or silver "summer beater" with good air conditioning each year, would it?

mediumball
Yeah, it's presentable. Hard to get good pics of a black car though, and there are more than a couple of scuffs & scratches on the rear bumper that don't show in the pics. I mention them in the ad though. No surprises.

Ha. You can make a case for anything if you try.

I got a first "reasonable" offer yesterday from a local person. Not a lowball price, but not quite what I want, either. Let's call it mediumball. I replied saying that since I just posted the ad, I'll be waiting a week or two to see what else comes up before I would consider it.

Honestly, if I found a white or silver HX, I would be tempted to purchase it.
No no no no no!
1997 HONDA CIVIC HX CLEAN COOL AC!
97 Honda Civic Hx
Neither have the HX wheels, but the silver one has nice-looking alloys. I do not like hub caps, even though we like to cover the wheels (which is easier to do with hubcaps).
The white one has a retarded butler...
Which is easier, repainting a black car white, or swapping transmissions?
At least I understand the basic concept of painting a car... A mechanic at Church told me I totally could do it and encouraged me... I keep thinking it cannot get much hotter, I am surviving so far, I have better uses for my time and money!

Quarter million miles and needs emissions work. Won't be able to register?

Paint! Does it have to look nice?
A friend of mine had a big old wooden sailboat -- hull painted dark, dark green. It looked fantastic cruising around the Great Lakes & east coast. He considered taking it to the Caribbean one winter, and if he had he would have painted it white just to keep the heat down during that trip.

another lowball
... and one other non-committal inquiry.
Time to re-list and drop the price a bit.
It's so nice to drive with the exhaust repaired though. Very civilized and quieter than other cars.
Coming up on one year of ownership.

Car looks really good. What are you asking? I'm not in the market, but I am curious.

Currently 4600 Canuckistan pesos. Or about 3500 USD. I'd just break even if I sold it for that. (Not counting on it.)
I got another inquiry from someone who wants to have a "battery condition" analysis done at the local Toyota dealer. I said I'd gladly take the car in if they're paying for it.

Agreed! But only when its transmission is yanked out and mated with the 3-cyl 1.0L engine in a RWD application such as a Miata.
