So well anyway, new crossmember downlink, under wiper motor drip tray, centre exhaust section, chassis strap, strut brace made (super strong) and other small brackets and bolts were replaced this week. Also 1.1kg of dirt was inside the flat bottom trays and the 993g towing eyes were removed
6.7kg week so not bad and my cf is getting very good plus a fitting turnaround of two days

A chap is also pricing some titanium springs (which I also want weakening from stock) however I doubt they will be the grade I want

Yay..
I stuck a piece of wood in there for now, the bracket underneath is being replaced and I will make a rubber stand with a roller on it. The exhaust even oe was rubbish on the gen II, and alloy wheel nuts. I will make a 20mm socket and acrylic coat it so they dont get scratched. They are oiled on the inside too

It was neat underneath. I molded that way because of the window motor, it was over 180 degrees so it was easier to break the mold and repair than make a 2 piece (in my opinion). There is not much room for a strut brace and my cf would be lighter so I made a tunnel with kitchen rolls. Hence why its above 30% weight. But overall stronger and lighter. I also have a funny cough. Carbon fibrosis ha ha

I will post more pics tomorrow

It bolts from the dash crossmember inside computer cluster down to the exhaust tunnel. Carbon on the outside then around 6 directional 600gsm glass weaves on the inside. Stronger than the 6061 t6 bolt shear, think thats 210. Although without the sat nav, 6 cd changer, glove box, heating system, and passenger airbag it's fine. Also the new dash I make will only be about 200g with pine laminate, I'm a sucker for the lighter colour woods

Apparently aldi have been putting GRP springs on a car but no one will make me any. Someone should do that. If uk builders (no mensa prizes) can make bridge reebar with it sure somebody can make some. Once I get really light maybe a big wedge of neoprene will do...

And my cf is gold colour because I got cheap furniture wax and a layer stays in the surface. It's not real gold

Also the piece of wood hasn't fallen out yet and I went over a few jumps. Will have to do for a few weeks. I have exhaust plans...

There are a few things I would like to do, aluminum brake calipers, springs etc but I do have a budget. I will concentrate on the doors and boot for the next few months. If there's time I will make hinges too..

On the right is a paper mache mold of the window wiper motor cowling, and to the left is a bracket that stabilizes the rear chassis but will also be used to hold the titanium exhaust.

I need a bigger oven....

I've ordered a 30" wiper so see if it will just do the drivers side well enough. The motor will still work if I remove all the other linkages. Only a 200g loss I guess but the front of the car needs most. With techstream I can increase rear braking, they keep seizing from not being used

Only one 30" wiper now. Once the motor etc has been operated on and the cowlings done will weigh it. A 32 might also be a straight fit

Staughton to Ashton in makerfield today and a stop off. Fractionly under two blocks (it will be two after ten seconds tomorrow). The blocks just under half way. As we know they are not all the same. 8 litres to 160 miles but it was warmed up and used every day up to today. Nearly raced an rs4 but want to wait until my seat, doors, boot and roof are replaced to make sure there's no competition. Makes me wanna get titanium springs and ceramic discs now!!

Also this Prius I follow traffic. The stock one I rotate the mass inertia so there are no or little rev changes, it does not make much sense it being very heavy etc but it works. It is such a very heavy and slow machine. Much more enjoy the buncemobile though and it does not much more than tick over about 500
