Ive decided to do the bonnet as well. Not sure theres time in a week but am going to try a tidy and respray while I'm at it. It's may look hideous but rather than a homestyle chip foose kind of thing to just have line to break it up
And carmine red, a brighter red

Questions
You are making a composite/fiberglass Hood/Bonnet? Yeah
I have consider doing this process However I am unsure of the know/how/DIY
There are obviously different weights/thread count/weave thickness to choose/use?
The resins seem tricky also to me as well?
How do you remove that cast (carefully for sure) without sticking to Hood/Bonnet?
I use cling film but you can use wax. There's three resins, polyester, vinylester and epoxy. I've used all three and don't think theres an awful difference. Epoxy is hardest and doesn't smell as much
I use 200g because it's easy to use and costs less. Woven glass is a very good substitute
I think the alloy bonnet is around 7kg at a guess. I don't have much more time but plan something with the doors, wings and hatch next year

I believe I've said this before, but I personally have found any reasonable weight reductions to only improve acceleration, and that the fuel economy savings basically disappear into background noise.
