Lights are hooked up correctly but something else broke because the tail lights don't work- only stop and turn. Drivers turn signal is still broken too.
At least I got some 'plast on.
The pole on the rear end is the backup aid being mocked up. It's super super helpful.

I vote for twin 'trolling rods'. A little drag that far back will help with directional stability.

It's on a hinge. I'll pull a little cable in the cabin and it'll pop up when I need it- otherwise, out of sight, out of airflow. Still gotta get the details sorted out.
Of course a well placed middle finger on there might get rid of tailgaters.

One side done today. Other side and top tomorrow, then it goes on insurance ASAP. It doesn't look as nice as I'd hoped and the compound curvature was tricky, but it should get the job done (and look less horrific once it's painted).

Still some problems with wiring but I think it's pretty close to being legal and operable.

I think it looks great. I'm starting to like black duct tape, don't you think it weathers better?
Are those horizontal lines stiffening rods in the material. They give a look like old biplane era tail surfaces. A little paint and signage... I'm starting to get boat-tail fever.
