Stumbled across your thread while I was searching the web for more generalized belly pan info to apply to my '97 Probe GTS.

Absolutely love your car. More of a 2nd Gen guy myself, only ever had one 1st Gen ('89 GT). But I actually like your car more than the look of any other 1st Gen I've ever seen (stock or modified)! Your paint schemes are great lol!

Oh, and I'm stealing your fixed position headlights /bumper cutout idea. :P I had been going the usual route of trying to shoehorn headlights into the small vertical area (when closed) of the stock location. The method pictured in your sketch makes much more sense. My only wonder is how much it will limit lighting to the sides near the car (easily rectified with secondary driving lights installed in the bumper tho).

Picked up the new tires yesterday but I need to get them dismounted and give the wheels back to my friend. 195/65/14 I believe.

Still charging it back up. I should have disconnected the battery, as something was draining it over the couple months of sitting.

I think that was all just the bad alternator/volt regulator. I drove it from Detroit back to the Twin Cities in May so it seems to be working. Just curious what your fix was though?

It cleans out your fuel system.

Hey, thanks! I'm more of a VW guy at heart but couldn't pass up another Ford for the price. I hope you can get the headlight thing to work because there's a bracket (for the bumper??) and the bumper mount blocking the headlight from being lowered vertically.

So, I've been looking for other solutions. Someone on my local forum suggested '94 Olds Cutlass headlights and I think that may work. Otherwise, perhaps some quad square sealed beams, early 80's style. The low beams would go up top and the high beams in the grille area like fog lights.

Klaatu barada nikto
Klaatu barada nikto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
"Klaatu barada nikto" is a phrase originating from the 1951 science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still. "Klaatu" refers to a name of the humanoid alien protagonist of the film. Klaatu (Michael Rennie) commanded Helen Benson (Patricia Neal) that, were anything to happen to him, she must utter the phrase to the robot Gort (Lockard Martin). In response, Gort relented from destroying the Earth and resurrected Klaatu from death.[1]
Here's another to consider.

I rented this film last week, a classic in it's own right.

I'm a big fan of The Day The Earth Stood Still. Good message and less useless horror than modern aliens-invade movies.

Anyway. Car finally finished charging. Started it up and a big cloud of smoke came out- flooded cylinders? Then it ran fine. I'm going to get some good pictures of it soon and get started on the boat tail and headlight conversion. More urgently, get the new tires on. Like, maybe tomorrow. And an oil change.

Also would like to get the e-brake fixed. I need to get out at the first snow and mess around in a parking lot to get a feel for it. Doing this could save your life one day!

This will probably go on insurance in a couple weeks. I was planning on switching on the Fall Equinox but the Rabbit's acting silly and has HVAC problems again. Car show season is almost over. I'm excited about the Probe again. It will be on the road soon.

Just to get a more concise list:

-mount new tires
-oil change
-headlight conversion
-boat tail
-e brake
-put it on insurance
-plugs, cap, rotor, wires
