Not sure if now, but years ago Polish law said that a "cargo" vehicle could only be registered for use with private small companies if it could fit a 70cm (later 80cm) cube inside the cargo area. Or something...
It was a law to keep people from registering passenger cars, often luxurious, as "company cargo vehicles" and getting tax incentives. Or something...

So this is an example of a dimension requirement which might influence the shape of vehicle offered by manufacturers.

Steinwinter Supercargo 2040 -- Syd Mead or Road & Track published a concept drawing but I can't find a reference.

AFAIK those high-cube vans well exceed such requirement anyway. I guess you remember the Fiat Fiorino of the previous generation, exported from Brazil to Europe, for instance.

Wonderful. Now, what is an anti-shock body, how does it work, and does it matter for highway use?

It's in the link, not as intended, and no.

and to everyones surprise they had little impact on the top speed of the airplanes, and in case of the Me-309 helped to increase it slightly.
Reminds me of a certain New Beetle with a rooftop tent that experienced the same thing. Well, mileage if not top speed.

AFAIK it's quite similar to the induced drag generated by the winglets in aircraft, in contrast to parasitic drag. Odd enough, as the wings fitted to cars have an effect opposite to the one of an aircraft, what could be said about the wing of a current model Porsche 911 GT3? It has some parts which resemble a winglet.

justacarguy.blogspot.com: I just discovered that Oscar Mayer has more than the Weinermobile for marketing, their collection includes the Wiener Mini, the Wiener Rover, the Wiener Cycle, and even a Wiener Drone.
