I think the red ball/sphere is a test object with known Cd for calibration purposes- but could be wrong.
It is so simple looking that I want it to work, but also odd that it does not match other scale model wind tunnels I have seen.

It might be able to distinguish between smooth and dimpled balls. In test equipment, you get what you pay for. This will work for various classroom demonstrations with a smoke trail, but not have the precision for experimentation. |

The mirror is outside the width of the buses body and they pull right up to the curb.
