Good idea. haha

Decided to put the mirror on anyway.

I also pulled off the door panel again and managed to get the window down. Turns out the crank mechanism's bolts were loose so it was slipping front to back when the handle was turned. I tightened them down and while the window still doesn't line up quite right, at least it opens and shuts.

Pics.

Also, in an attempt to reduce weight, I removed the rear seats I have never used. Estimated about 10-15lbs. Going to perforate the fiberboard trunk floor with a 1-1/2" forstner bit for hopefully an extra pound. I don't own a scale so it's hard to tell for sure.

Done

Back in Black by Tyler Linner, on Flickr

Thinking the cargo tray, though perforated, could be replaced with some solid 2" thick styrene insulation sheet. The weight would be a fraction of the fiberboard and probably about as strong.

Tip: always drill a pilot hole when using a forstner bit. I muscled through it but it is uncomfortable and quite honestly unsafe.

Wool blanket came out; it's not winter anymore. About a pound. Took some stuff inside that I don't need while driving around. 3lbs.

I've got a good 5 lbs in the emergency kit in the tire well but that's going to stay. It's got tire goo, jack, tow strap, jumper cables, crescent wrenches, a bright safety vest and more.

Busted out the windshield sun shade too.

Eh, it's a glossy bronze color in real life. I'm kind of fond of it. Apparently, though, if you plastidip a car without waxing the paint first the plastidip will never, ever come off. So, no UFORB... other things for now.

Ordering the upper control arms the alignment guy was wiggin' out about, and springs too. The springs have little level hatches so I should be able to level out the car and finally have it low-ish.

The new muffler is banging on something back there so this weekend will include some work trying to install the rest of the new stuff and reduce contact with the body.

Gotta get an oil filter and change the oil this weekend too.

Full exhaust system installed and oil/filter changed yesterday. couldn't get the old O2 sensor off. drove to woodward meet without o2 sensor. apparently blew mani gasket because i torqued in the wrong order. a few exhaust hangers need to be hooked up (somehow) and rattles due to imperfect fitment to be dealt with.

mo parts mo problems
