Here's where Bill Gates is putting his money (Ambiri):

Quote:
The latest iteration involves a lithium/antimony/lead liquid metal battery comprising a liquid lithium negative electrode, a molten salt electrolyte, and a liquid antimony/lead alloy positive electrode, which self-segregate by density into three distinct layers owing to the immiscibility of the contiguous salt and metal phases. The difference in composition between the two liquid metals gives rise to a voltage.

Anyone have recommendations for a weather station? Ideally one without a display. I just want something that connects to the internet via WiFi with either a webpage I can access, or a phone app to review the data.
I didn't have an answer then, but today I'd say Raspberry Pi Zero weather station.

A $35 Pi Zero can use Ethernet or wi-fi. The one I find interesting is FM radio.

How to Build a Raspberry Pi FM Radio Transmitter

So by writing a code to perform frequency modulation using the spread-spectrum clock signal we can tweak the Pi to work as a FM transmitter. The modulated signal will be given out through the GPIO pin 4 of the Raspberry Pi. We can simply attach a normal wire of 20 cm maximum to this pin to act as an antenna. Setting up the Raspberry Pi for ...
This is trivial as a hack. If you have neighbors, a band-pass filter and choke might be friendy.

My brother in-law ended up buying this one as a gift for me;

Amazon

The display has come in very handy too as I just glance at it to compare outdoor temperature to indoor to decide when to close or open the windows.

Here's the weather in my backyard. Getting warm today...

https://www.pwsweather.com/station/pws/WIFI8D8A

The neat thing is I have it connected to my sprinkler controller so it skips watering if it recently rained or the wind is above 10 MPH.

Also, the Chinese can inform the Russians when conditions are perfect to parachute in.

The Russians aren't the Chinese's monkey. They're actively blocking the Suez Canal becoming another S. China Sea [according to TFI Global].

So your brother thinks your worth $180?

Of course I meant the conspiracy to appeal to your sensitivity towards privacy.

My brother in-law gave me his motorcycle, so he thinks I'm worth at least $5,180. Also many very nice knives, and the best smoked tomahawk steak I've had... and a drone... probably a lot of other stuff I'm not recalling. He's a gadget geek with deep pockets and retirement time to play with them.

Don't believe in conspiracy. Believe in Coincidance.
Quote:
As explained on the back cover the title [Coincidance: A Head Trip] is a deliberate misspelling suggesting the “mad dervish whirl of coincidence and synchronicity” to be found within.

We will close our coal fired power plant and use more hydroelectric.
California 4 years later. Crap! We are out of water and the state is on fire.
The Orrville dam seems like a disaster waiting for the right time to happen.
