My parents got the 2009 corolla SE and it is really nice. I only drove it for 70 miles but I was getting 46.1 mpg without any advanced hypermiling tricks.

That's really, really good. I wonder if this generation has better potential than the previous one. The ratings are slightly lower for the new one, I think (not that that means anything in the real world).

Am I reading this part correctly? You drove 446 miles in 2.6 hours at 63mph?
I calculate that should be ~164 miles.
I just got a little confused there.

His cruising speed was like 75 though.
Looks like they're doing a Yaris/camry mixup for the frontend on this corolla.
Good to hear on the FE with the VVT-I

^Yeah I'm really pissed I didn't go for the manual when I had the chance.

99.9% of all rental cars are automatics. You'd have to rent an exotic car from Vegas or Beverly Hills for manual action. Yeah, bummer.

DPOV's correct: the cruising speed was 70-75. I also had time driving around Des Moines and Kansas City, so the there was some idle time at lights, etc.
