Finally, éste refers to a specific thing, while ésto would be more general. They might have said something more like "Oyen, miren ésto."

I, like P-hack, blame Google.
I googled what language they speak in the Dominican Republic. Then I used Google Translate to translate "Hey y'all watch this." Then I used Google chrome to post it to this site.
The only Spanish I know came from Dora the explorer. So Gringo isn't offensive right? Then again, Websters says "often disparaging". Oh well, at least I'm smart enough not to gun a Volvo into a crowd or just stand there while somebody else does it toward me.

You have villainized everyone on here that disagrees with your ideology that Google is an evil corporation that intends harm towards people for profit. Assuming that all who are opposed to your way of thinking has ill intentions for you is how wars are started.
The 2 political parties often fall prey to this fallacy when they assume each side intends harm towards particular groups of people. In reality, both sides want to encourage good behavior, prosperity, and health, they simply disagree on how to accomplish this.

but, you are not addressing the issue at hand, that "free market" is a very misleading term. And then throw in some random stuff about political parties.
When a company reaches a sufficient size and influence, it isn't a "free market" anymore, now is it?
Also, I don't "blame" anyone, you see opportunities of one sort or another, google/apple/etc do as well. I do think it is extremely short sighted in a lot of ways though.

Honestly, Spanish-speakers usually call me "americano," although I use "estadounidense" while claiming to be from "gringolandia."
I am not able to practice my Spanish much, though, I regularly go to Mexican restaurants and order in Spanish. They usually respond in English. When they insist on translating everything that I say into English I leave and they are probably glad to be rid of me.

Not entirely correct. They each have quite different ideas on what actually constitutes the "good behavior" they want to encourage. And those of us less than enamoured with both parties have still different ideas...

and google certainly has zero interest in encouraging "good behavior", except as it relates to stock value and dividends and profits.
And if the discussion is now drifting into population behavior control, then we might as well add religion to the table, since it still has nothing to do with ecomodding anyway...
edit, I think you missed the nuance of my "google is now evil" comment

Google is comprised of people, which are self-interested by nature. Of course they place their own interest first.
All discussions are religious by nature, and that is why I don't pretend to avoid discussions of philosophy or politics. Understanding what motivates action is more important than the actions themselves.
