Sad news..
Well, guys, I hit a deer with the Malibu... I was on my way home at cruising speed(50mph), and a big deer ran at full speed from the far right... Never seen it until it was too late..
Now just waiting for insurance appraiser to come out and look her over...

Doh, 3rd deer story I've heard recently. I assume you and any passengers are okay. Let us know what happens!

Yeah, I was alone on my way home from work... No injury other than the deer... I fear they'll total my car due to the extensive damage... My list so far:
Hood
Fender
Bumper cover
Headlight
Headlight wiring harness
Inner fender
Upper grille and trim
Lower grille
Radiator
Cooling fan
Core support

Ah, man, that's too bad! And you were doing really well with that car, too. Good no one (human) was hurt though.
Well. Did you at least keep the deer?
I see in your logs you were doing lots of EOC - is that Engine ON Coasting or Engine OFF coasting? Because if you found an auto that lets you get away with OFF coasting, that's, like, super rare.

I didn't keep the deer... Never even looked for it, lol... It was dark and I was tired and shaken at that point...
I started with EOnC, and then after seeing some people on other forums using these cars as "dinghies" behind RVs, I asked the local dealer about flat towing in neutral, and they said it should be fine, so I started killing the engine... The GM 4T45E transmission is supposedly good for flat towing in neutral... I did try and rev match as I shifted into drive though... Still drove fine before the deer hit though

Sorry about your car and yes the 4t45 is a flat tow tranny.
