Your a good guys for trying to help others who need to save as much cash as possible. I for one would like to get me tool asap. So once my refund clears I will simply buy it from amazon.

Moving forward I still think we as a forum need to have an established way to buy these tools which we use with such dedication. So the effort to set up a way to purchase them would surely be appreciated. If it was available to me here today for $159 through our site I would have bought it here, knowing that any profit generated would go to sustaining this great forum.

GL guys, and thanks again for trying to help us all...

I know I still want one. Just can not afford it right now. Wish they could make a cheaper just mpg version :-) Still in a month or so I should have enough to buy one if another group buy gets going.

I don't blame reformed for abandoning his buy. It's his call.

For those who still want a SGII, I hope to post details from Linear Logic tomorrow on the "official" EM group buy rate & details.

Thumbs down Forget it

Why did they refuse to respond to Darin's attempt to do a group-buy directly the first time?!

Thanks for trying, Trev, I appreciate your effort.

I'm done though. After the bad taste this fiasco has left behind, I won't buy a $cam-Gouge now. Yuck. What a seedy, greedy, and arrogant way to handle things. If this is how they treat customers before money changes hands, what hope is there for good service afterwards? Thanks for the heads-up, LL.

The only democracy that remains is when you vote with your wallet.

Sorry for the confusion: it wasn't a refusal to do a group buy via EM. Linear Logic was quite willing. We were ironing out details when I got a non-response on what I considered a key question. I stopped pursuing them then.

When I went to look into it again, this thread had already started, so I didn't bother.

I'm not defending the company's handling of Trevor's group buy effort. Obviously it could have been handled differently.

This is what others have been able to do for a group buy

For a more comprehensive list of features, check out this page on the official ScanGauge II website:
http://www.scangauge.com/features/

GROUP BUY DETAILS/PRICING

MSRP --> $169.95
RPM's Retail Price --> $159.95

Qty: 1 to 9 --> $154.95
Qty: 10 to 19 --> $149.95
Qty: 20 to 34 --> $144.95
Qty: 35 or more --> $139.95

TOTAL GROUP BUY ORDERS SO FAR: 35+

Pricing includes shipping within the US. Residents of Hawaii and Alaska may use the shipping quote code: FREE. Shipping to Canada will be an additional US$7.00, so you may use the shipping quote code: 1117X

Given that ScanGauge II has been around a long time I would surmise that all of the development costs have been recovered and the margin is high. Perhaps EM can get a better price?

Man this is a tough crowd

Don't forget about support, they have to factor in the numbnutsPer100Clients ratio into the price

edbso: the prices you quoted appear to be from a retailer/distributor organizing group buys, not from a Linear Logic direct buy. Apparently, the last buy that retailer did was in 2006.

Sounds like you've been doing too much coding as of late....

I think I'll be picking up the duino now and going the DIY route... (At least until the next GB gets kicked off... hopefully it'll be next month as a blown PSU made me spend most of what I'll be getting back from paypal already...)
