2009–present: Reconstruction
Amidst the public and federal criticisms against the hospital,[51] the board and trustees put forth a $458 million plan approved by the Oregon Legislative Assembly in 2007, which called for the construction of a replacement hospital in Salem with as many as 620 beds, as well as a 360-bed facility in Junction City.[47] .... Construction of the new Salem facility began in 2009, and was completed around 2011; with the Junction City facility being completed in 2013.[47] Salem mayor Janet Taylor has called for the number of beds to be reduced to 320 or fewer, and another hospital facility to be built in or near Portland

Not closed, but far fewer institutionalized people than before 1980. ~600 capacity for all of Oregon? Seems inadequate.
Agree with the mayor saying one close to Portland needs to be built, since that's where the majority of disturbed and dangerous outdoor people live.

Scott, Scott, Scott....

His Trump fan fiction is that he gets a Charles Barkley Scott Adams haircut.
I notice that fringe on top he had the last few days is shorter.

Wasn't a fan of his fan fiction. He's gone from being mostly indifferent about Trump, to using persuasion tactics to support him.

The "!1" Phenomenon | Know Your Meme
The "!1" Phenomenon is a well-known but sparsely documented typo that is commonly found in online conversations. In many cases, a string of exclamation marks followed by "1" can be read as a careless typo, though it has been increasingly used with intention to express a sense of urgency or excitement.

I don't get excited by personalities, but ideas, which is why I never fit in. To your suggestion, my reply is to join me. Disclaimer; I don't care much if anyone does or not.
I've got my preferences, but have contempt for entirely avoidable scenarios where the choices come down to a punch to the gut, or to the face.

T'wasn't a suggestion but a parodical quote. I'd take one punch over having the anarcho-tyrannical boot come down.
Quote:
Someone Died, and Something Tells Me China’s Behind It
Angela Chao, sister of Elaine Chao, sister-in-law of US Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the Chinese American CEO of the shipping company the Foremost Group mysteriously died after her car rolled into a pond on her husband's property. Initial reports said it was an accident but now there's an ongoing criminal investigation. The Chao family is intimately tied to the Chinese economy. Was China involved in foul play? …

I thought Resident Biden was relenting on closing the border, come to find out he flew 320,00 over it in jet planes.

Agreed, but the fact that those are the options is insanity.
Listening to Bill Whittle's latest documentary in the series, "What We Saw", which is phenomenal. You're certainly better off taking the punch than getting the boot. Many will avoid the punch in hopes of getting the boot last.

No. It's a fallacy.

Fallacies of Presumption: False Dilemma, Excluded Middle, False ...
The false dilemma fallacy occurs when an argument offers a false range of choices and requires that you pick one of them. It is a variation on the fallacy of suppressed evidence and the fallacy of the excluded middle. It can be avoided by conceding the unstated options or by using the law of the

Today the Scottster quoted Alex Epstein's reframe of 'Climate Danger'.
I've always thought of it as ruggedizing the infrastructure. For every step to protect against rising temperatures, another step to guard against falling temperatures. And high winds. And tsunami.
Trump is vulnerable on the question of vaccines. I think he used accelerationism to expose the flaws in The Plan, despite the political hit.
