This is very impressive, especially the fiber modelling work. I envy your hood deflector.

I really have a very hard time understanding the EGR and catalysator deletion, though. MPG isn't everything, you know.

I reported 2 of batateam's today posts by clicking on the small triangle at the lower left part of his messages. It seams his 13 messages are all spams. Moderators should delete his messages as soon as they are awake

Rear driving ligths led swap completed:

Pictures before

Before.jpg - Windows Live

After:
Before.jpg - Windows Live

Only the left ligth changed in the pictures. 4x 5W ligth bulbs chaged to 12 leds in watts ca 1-2 watts total :/. So watt usage dropped ca 18 watts

Also the radio antenna moved inside the car

Some progress again.

2x register lights swapped to leds.

New cold air intake pipe done, and started the evo II front bumber. New headligth swap is a no go, because they are too big . however I will put the DRL:s in some place anyway.

I also recalibrated my scangauge and changed also the units to Miles, because the difference is so litlle when going below 3 litres that it is hard to notice the differences. I got average consumption of 96 MPG @ avg speed 51 MPH behind A truck for 40 miles distance. Long dowhill sections the number were at 101 MPG.

I would also recommend all european drivers to start using MPG category if your consumption is below 4 litres/100km. This way you see more accurate results .

In your album I noticed a new bumper. Could give us an update on that?

Also, I noticed that that your car's FE suddenly got worse during the last 6 months. Is that because of a harsh winter?

Yes new bumber is on place. Cannot say for sure its effect on MPG figures. I should still manufacture openable plate. Also the intercooler should be moved. After that full air ducting from in to out through bonnet. Air outlets will be like ford focus WRC car... Those inlet include new lighter bonnet .

Most of my bad MPG figures are caused by sum of bad things:

1. I drive over 120km/h on motorways, even if the speed limit is 100. My regular driving route in 60% on motorways... On my best tanks I have only drived below 100 km/h speeds on motorways.

2. My winter tires are with much smaller diameter, and also not good on rolling resistance. Also I dont want to drive behind anyone, because my tires arent so good on grip. So I cannot use draft as much as on summer...

3. Winter. lots of cold starts on -10 to -20 celsius. Also the roads are in bad condition, rains snow, have to use electrical devices a lot etc...

4. I have almost totally stopped driving with P&G style, because the car doest roll so good.

I tried to drive one tank at winter with full P&G mode but the resulst was only a 3.7l/100km so I didint bother to use that at winter anymore.

Dont worry, everything is about to change.

1. Summer is coming and modifications will continue.

2. I have purchased already Michelin energy saver tires so that is best at the moment on LRR tire section .

3. Also I will try even larger front tires to lower my gearing even more.

4. More mods are coming!!!

How ever you wont see so many good tanks as last summer, because I have calculated that so that I appreciate more of the time what I am not in my car driving under speed limits. So I will drive most of my motorway tanks 120km/h like at winter...

This summers target is to reach 2000 km in one tank mark. That is 85,5 MPG. Also I will try to reach 100 MPG target on my regular work route which is ca 430 km.

I have recently purchased a 1999 VW Polo Variant TDI, in essence identical to the Cordoba. Your work so far is an inspiration for my plans, so my thanks to you, and keep us updated

Summer is coming and good tanks also.

I was in a fuel economy race a month ago and I won finnish fuel economy champion by 0.15l/100km.

Also michelin tires have been installed, but the results werent as good as I hoped. To find out what is wrong I servised my rear drum brakes and other side was totally jammed. Now the big front tires are back in place and the Michelins are at the rear.

Now I am trying get to be a test driver of new finnish biodiesel. I would appreciate your votes. 10 Test drivers will be taken and the votes are one part of the decision making process...

Neste Green 100 -diesel

Push the tumb up button "pitää" and your vote is in. Thanks for your effort.

In my fuel log is described the current changes what I have made.
