What part of "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" don't you conservatives understand?

Right to assemble doesn't me you should behave disrespectfully.
And as for polls, we call know the old adage " There are lies, damned lies; and statistics".

Perhaps some people need to consult a dictionary? First, crowding into public buildings, chanting, threatening people, and otherwise interfering with other people's lives stretches the definition of peaceful pretty close to the breaking point.
Second, maybe you could go back and read what I actually wrote? The pro-union groups can do all the peaceable assembling & petitioning they want: my question is how you define it as democratic when the desires of a noisy mob are placed above those of the great majority who aren't there protesting?
Do the pro-union sheeple get to drown out all the other voices, simply because they're good at chanting simple-minded slogans in unison?

ROFLMAO. You guys are really liberals lampooning the conservative viewpoint, right? Rabid conservatives couldn't do a better job of making their position look any more ridiculous.
Okay, I'll play along with you. Let's support Gov. Walker calling in the state troopers and National Guard. Let's propose martial law, and close the borders to keep troublemakers out. Let's forbid the leftist news media from publicizing those disrespectful troublemakers. Let's set up a pure thought test so the only protests in Madison will be respectful ones. Once you've tossed the First Amendment, the others are similar garbage on paper. You guys are unbelievable!

Speaking of freedom of speech (which this forum never promised!)...
I smell a thread lock coming!
Here's an idea... Why don't we talk about automotive efficiency instead?

On another forum I moderate, we've outright banned Religious/Political talks.
For being a Scientific based forum, I'm surprised this place hasn't as well. It's just something that lots of people can't seem to talk about calmly.

Well, the description of "The Lounge" in the sub-forum list specifically discourages political talk. So does the user terms of service thinger people agree to when they sign up.
I guess people don't always read the fine print.
I am shocked at this revelation.

But pretty much anything from favourite colour to how to spell "favourite" and "colour" is political
If people fall out or get too naughty, there is always a naughty step available to put them on.
Let it flow. Why not...
