Not common down in Georgia, but I see them occasionally. I don't think their styling is helping sales.

My recent sentra rental was on average 9% optimistic with its MPG gauge, so it may not have been 40. That being said, back when my mom still had her Mazda CX-5 I was able to hit an indicated 43 MPG going 55 on the highway. I don't know how accurate it was however.

My Rogues wife and son's Rogue get 24-28, wife drive only 4 miles so tough, when I drive it farther getting the 32 mpg hwy it's rated for is pretty easy. I had 36 3-tank out in Colorado, it (2015) does a great job of DFCO and upping RPM to minimize braking when going down hill, doesn't happen much here in Iowa.

Toyota sold just under 50,000 of them in 2018 and 2019, a far cry from their worst-seller (the 86 sold 3,398 units in 2019).

RIP Honda Fit (US)
Have we done this one yet?
Quote:
Well, we just got the official word from Honda: the Fit will be dropped from the U.S. lineup after the current generation.

So if you want a little Honda, you have to get whatever crossover they make on the same platform.
Fit only sold 35,414 units In the States in 2019.
I wonder if it's being dropped in Canada too...

ALL the women I know... ALL... have gone to SUVs, even those that seemed to be in agreement with me about the importance of good fe. Friend of mine just told me last night how his wife just got a big F150... obviously I have an old F150 but our usage patterns diverge widely: I use it sparingly for hauling things too big or disgusting to put in a car while she is a life-long leadfoot who will put on tens of thousands of unladen miles on annually at 80 mph.

Amazingly, my 60 something year old aunt just bought a Mini! Though all the other women in that generation have gone to SUV's and crossovers as their latest.

How do SUV and truck crumple zones compare with cars?
