as for the neon thing, being in high school, the words "f@g" and "gay" are just as exchangeable as the word F***. They can mean lots of things, dependent on how they're used. Saying *** or gay can mean that its dumb, it sucks, that they are actually a homosexual, and so on.
As for the ramming thing... I WAS GONNA SAY THAT If you have off road lights, you probably have a brush guard... that's where ramming doesn't hurt your vehicle comes into play no need for a cow catcher

I was getting tail gated by a tractor trailer one day coming back from the hardware store with a bag of 3.5" nails... It was tempting to grab one and just hold it between my finger tips out the window so he could see it. My turn off was soon so I didn't bother. I imagine it would be a good way to get a visit from the police too.

worse yet, i had my neighbor tailgate me for like 5 miles in his huge dump truck, i was surprised he didn't hit me. (NOT normal truck it is the tractor trailer size)
when people use high beams I like to make it so their high beams reflect in my mirrors back at them.

That high beam thing works good. I don't see the point in using high beams if you've got your lights set right. Of course I've only got one high beam anyway

Yeah, love to, but in the northeast, I'd get arrested for brandishing. Meanwhile they'd get to sue me for 'scaring' them or some asinine thing. Road rage incidents never get addressed around here even when formally reported with multiple witnesses.
I also think a handgun escalates things beyond where anyone wants them to go but is IS fun to fantasize about the possibilities. Especially the parts about emptying a few magazines into various parts of their car.

I don't know about where everyone else lives, but the last time I reported a road rage incident the police came out promptly, filed a report, and went and scared the crap out of the guy (I got the plate number), so I'm not moved to vigilante justice...Unfortunately I couldn't press charges because I had to go to school, :/

Last time I reported a road rage incident the operator laughed at me; go figure.
Definitely varies from area to area. I spent some time out of state, and forgot that anything under the limit here will earn you road rage from other drivers.
I've gotten plenty of obscenities yelled out of windows, the bird, horn, lights flashed, rushed up on back bumper, the works. I used to nail the breaks, but since I was rear ended / rammed I just ignore them.

If they were in front of me, I would either slam on the brakes (squeal 'em as loud as possible, maybe they'll get distracted and drive off the road *hahaha!*), turn around, and punch it!
Or, if you are like me, you have a red spotlight, 100,000 candlewatt spotlight, and this in your car....
Retrieve the weapon of your choice and scare them back! I have all blue LED interior lights too, so I'd probably turn those on too.

Same here. The dispatcher (mistakenly) had us follow the guy. He pulled over and we held back. He walked back to our car brandishing a knife and tapped on my driver's window with it. I looked him in the eye and stated that the Police are on their way, and there's nothing he could about it. He jumped in his RAV-4 and took off. In the meantime, I communicated the plate numbers. Later he was arrested at home.
Ever since, I imagine the same experience with someone with a gun (concealed carry is legal in MO). It's not worth our lives.
My advice. Just give it up and be a man. Let it slide.

I was driving on a road that went from 2 lanes to one and someone passed me on the right shoulder right after it dropped to one lane on our side.
I tapped my horn to let them know that they almost hit my car. They slammed on the brakes and stopped, but I couldn't go around them because of oncoming traffic.
This guy and woman both come back and start screaming at me and kicking and punching my car.
The oncoming traffic lane was clear so I took off around their car. He left the drivers side door open so I rammed it and bent it out to the fender.

I can agree with the feelings and challenges of how to handle some of these things. I agree with RH77 though, I think. I look at it from the perspective that just because someone else is having some sort of issues, it doesn't mean it is worth while for me to get angry, frustrated or anything else, for myself.
I'm trying to just avoid those people who seem to have those problems, by making it easy for them to go on down the road or by getting myself out of those situations by turning off or something. I don't think it's worth it to do anything to escalate a situation.
For those of you who live someplace that you have some confidence that the police might do something, or at least not turn you into the criminal, for complaining, I'd say go ahead and call the police. My own experiences with the police have all been largely negative where they effectively treat me like I'm the one who created the problem. I don't need that hassle.
