I've heard of using RainX on headlights for this reason.. perhaps you could try that?
OP: What was the total cost for those replacements you listed? Reasonable compared to regular bulbs?

Nice idea, I already RainX-ed the windows. May give the lights a dab next time.
I got my set for € 58 something, but as it did not have the right connectors it was a fight to get things sorted. Finally I ended up with the right connectors and a free set of spares.
Over here the halogens are almost as expensive as the cheapest HID sets so there was never a chance for the halogens. Really, some shops sell halogen blue-coated lights for about € 30 apiece with dry eyes. Or at least they try.
$12 for a couple of ecocandles is a real steal. Except you shouldn't.

Ive switched out all my side markers, dome lights, etc to led and they seem to last about a year before they start to flicker and I end up replacing them. For some reason the license plate area is the worse and I am always replacing those bulbs. Rather I go with a 1 watt led or down to the little 5 mm leds.

If your flasher unit goes too quickly with the LED bulbs (like mine did), SuperBrightLEDs sells a solid state replacement unit for a reasonable price. I first tried to modify the stock unit (increasing the resistance on one part) but it was quite problematic, and never worked properly.

I just confirmed it with the brake bulb in a turn signal position. HYPER flashing! I'll leave them oem, they're not in use enough to be worth the cost of swapping.

Pale, Thank you for your detailed original post. I also experimented with red LED tail and brake light replacement bulbs. I tried yellow for the turn signals but got the dreaded hyperflashing. One of those bulbs is now the outside light on my pop-up camper (I can leave it on without running down my 12v deep cycle battery). I found the LEDs to be not as bright as the original filament bulbs and wanted a different look so I sprung for ebay Lexus style LED taillights. These replaced the whole taillight housing but still use filament bulbs for turn signals. They are very bright from the rear and I feel safer. Just my 2¢.
I ordered my replacement LEDs from the Superbright website.

What kind of led bulbs are you using? I've ordered many different types from ebay, and found that 5050 smds are the best (what comes to brightness and durability) alternative at least for now, bought them from seller "peraccurate". He has recently added ba15s with 46 5050s, just ordered a pair of those to see how they work.

That running light isn't really bright, only 5x 5050s. A bulb with 13 red 5050s is just slightly more powerful than a normal 10 watt incandescent.
