Cooling is important too, and for that a metal housing helps as it conducts heat.

That's the only advantage I can see. Simple forced air will very effectively cool or warm the batteries as needed.

Looks like the tweet saying that tesla secured funding from Goldman Sachs when no deal had been reached may have just given the FTC probable cause to investigate tesla.

Yes FTC is investigating tesla for misleading investors over funding, model 3 production problems and insider trading.

Tesla could lose business to Nissan when they release the 250 mile Leaf. The big unknown to me is whether Nissan will start using better temperature management. If they follow the same path they did with the 30kWh batteries, a 250 mile Leaf could be below the base 3 on range within a few years.

From what I've seen, it appears he just took 1 drag, and then followed up by saying he doesn't smoke because it isn't good for productivity. No news is bad news.
I've wondered if tanking the stock is part of his strategy privatize the company cheaper. If I wanted to buy something back, I would make it cost as little as possible.
