As an ecodriver, I don't like 1-pedal driving, for the most part. I use the L mode on our Bolt EV, when I want lots of regen. And my brother's i3 REx, there is a nice easy to find "detent" to allow coasting - but you have to keep your foot on the accelerator.

The e-Golf (and probably the Ioniq) have the best implementation - coasting in D by default, and optional modes adding regen to the accelerator, AND integrated regen on the brake pedal.

I love driving the e-Golf. With the Ecopia EP422 tires on our 2017 SE, it coasts easily and often, with no fuss, whatsoever. The brakes are the best of any car I have owned in a long time - maybe the 2002 Focus ZX5 had better brakes? The Bolt EV brakes are also excellent.

The 2008 Scion xD we still have, by the way - has horrible brakes.

Jack's blog on it is also really good too.

Tesla Model 3 - NextGen Battery - EVTV Motor Verks

After watching DW adapt to one-pedal driving in the 3, I think it's great. For one, having max regen be mostly off of the gas instead of on the brakes gives a smidge more time to regenerate energy, but more to the point, it encourages the driver to stay off the brakes because it's so easy driving with just the accelerator.

Granted, she still jumps on the brakes if she's in a hurry, but she uses them way less often if she isn't. If anyone has any questions about the car, ask away.

Saw it but I don't think I posted about it.

The June the 5th episode is about building a mil-spec battery for aviation fire-fighting out of Tesla modules. I'm going back to watch the rest now.

Looks like Tesla wasn't kidding about it's restructuring.

They laid off 9% of their workforce, apparently mostly in management. No production line workers were fired.

They are still hiring people on the lines. Hopefully the chief/indian balance has been achieved.

Chief indian ratio is still too even. I'm still getting many phone calls to go work at the battery plant every day
