3. No CEO of a publicly traded company is allowed to make false statements about their company. This type of speech is already restricted.
Musk got off with a slap on the hand the last time. He would be wise to stop poking the bear. I suspect the SECs next move is to bar him from holding an executive position in a publicity traded company.

It's here!
$35k standard range Tesla.
Quote:
We are incredibly excited to announce that the standard Model 3, with 220 miles of range, a top speed of 130mph and 0-60mph acceleration of 5.6 seconds is now available at $35,000! Although lower in cost, it is built to achieve the same perfect 5-star safety rating as the longer-ranged version, which has the lowest probability of injury of any car ever tested by the U.S. Government.
In addition, we are introducing the Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which offers 240 miles of range, a top speed of 140mph, 0-60mph acceleration of just 5.3 seconds and most premium interior features at $37,000 before incentives. For 6% more money, you get 9% more range, more power, and an upgraded interior.
To achieve these prices while remaining financially sustainable, Tesla is shifting sales worldwide to online only.

... just as I had let the naysayers convince me it wouldn't happen.
Will be interesting to see what happens with Bolt and Leaf sales/pricing now.

Yes, and that they lowered the prices for several options/features.
Going to be interesting.

I'm hoping Arcimoto follows them down-market fairly soon.

Pretty clear. The tweet contained information material to Tesla. It had to be pre-approved.

I think the information he's disseminating needs to be novel to be material. If he's just restating something from the earnings call or quarterly update letter, then that's not material info. For example...

Was the announcement of a $35,000 Tesla based on a Musk tweet?

Even if he had tweeted the $35,000 Model 3 was coming, he'd say nothing new.

He just kept word.
