Used Ford Fusion Energi?

So I have noticed 2015-2018 Ford Fusion Energi PHEVs have dropped under $20,000 with 50-100k miles on them. Even down to $15,000. Are these reliable? They only show a 22 mile EV range but otherwise get over 40mpg. I currently have a 2017 Lincoln version, non hybrid, so I like the ride, size, features, looks. Thinking about dropping a car payment and trading the Lincoln for a PHEV hybrid version. I lose AWD and 400hp but that's only so fun for a few seconds.

Can't speak to reliability, but the Fusion hybrid is my go-to rental. 45 MPG when it's warm out. The Energi would be among my top contenders for a PHEV.

The Seattle area has like 5 around 75,000 miles and under $17,000. We have none here but a regular hybrid with 100,000 for $16,000 and pretty basic options. It looks like even the basic Energi has leather and quite a few other upgrades over the standard hybrid. I don't mind the limited trunk space as so far basically 2 carry ons and a backpack is all I've ever had in my Lincoln trunk.

I may wait until June when making a trip to Seattle with my brothers. But I also don't want to miss the high used car prices as I'm trading down not up.

If it's a spare vehicle, I'd simply sell it now on the private market and wait for prices to fall to normal levels.

I think I'll be selling Ol' Yeller here pretty soon, along with one or both of my parents Camrys.

AeroStealth had one. It was his gateway drug into BEVs.
He had one electronic issue which Ford took care of at no cost.
I remember around 34-mpg in steady, constant-speed interstate at around 65-mph with A/C on.
If your normal commute is around 22-miles, you've essentially got an EV.
The engine will start periodically just to exercise the engine and burn a little fuel. Like a Volt. A tank of gas can last a long time.
The heated seats save some battery capacity during cold spells. Something he wishes his BOLT had.

Back in 2020 when I was furloughed, I had an issue with my Fusion and being its still under warranty I took it to the dealer for repair. They ended up giving me a Fusion hybrid as a loaner.
Being Eco minded, I reset the MPG gauge when I left the dealership. Drove if for 4 days, around 200 miles, when I took it back to pick up my car it was reading 44 MPG's.
Some city driving but I did go to my parents house which is 38 miles one way on back country roads with a 55 mph limit.

Well the used Fusion Energi market both dried up and ballooned up more than my liking for an 8 year old, off warranty car. I did buy a brand new Hyundai Sonata hybrid yesterday instead. Supposedly gets 51 mpg highway which blows my mind. I did drive it around town and the lie-o-meter was saying 53 average but after I did a cold start and drove to work this morning that dropped down to 44 mpg. It's a nice car, has everything I wanted as far as features, not s many as the Lincoln which I traded in, but those extras I hadn't really used. The connectivity to the phone is much better on the Hyundai. Wireless charging, cable less Android auto, remote start and locking unlimited distance on the phone. It has adaptive cruise control and lane assist, all the auto start stop and what not. Rides great and looks nice. So I'm surprised it wasn't on my radar earlier. I guess I assumed full size hybrids wouldn't do better than about 40 mpg.

i have a 2018 fusion non plug in, got it as a used company pool vehicle for 10k. with 20k miles on it. there was an energi there to, but it was about 5k more. and i elected to go with the cheaper car.

in retrospect, I wish i'd gone with the energi as while my daily commute is 30 miles of mostly highway, i find myself running a lot of city driving errands that are more like 5 or 6 miles.

i've looked in to the conversion to a PHEV of my current fusion but for the cost/effort it doesn't make sense for me, other than i just kinda wanna.
