It's OK to quote parts of items from other sites, but pasting the whole article is verboten (copyright).
I've removed the paste. But feel free to quote in the bit that interested you.
I noticed that the Ford 3-cyl 1.0 turbo in the Fiesta was voted best of the year overall.

my bad.....sorry!
from the article.....
"But as logical as turbocharging is in gasoline engines, it makes even more sense when you boost modern diesel engines, which offer ridiculous fuel economy, gobs of torque and a very clean footprint on the environment. And we haven’t touched on the ability of a stout iron diesel engine block to keep going and going and going......"

Thanks for understanding. We have had our wrists (legitimately) slapped for infringement a couple of times, so I like to mention it in public when I see it.

I like the 1.0L Fiesta, but I wish it had some of the C-Max guts, like the Atkinson cycle, 12.3 compression ratio and the hybrid.
The Chevy Cruze is pretty nice too. Not too shabby at 45MPG!

I'm with you on the applicability of small diesels. These guys have come up with an ingenious solution to the big vibration problem of single- and two-cylinder diesels. I think these could be the Next Big Thing under the hood of some compact, lightweight commuter.

2014 Chevrolet Clean Diesel Cruze
• Korean designed vehicle that's
• Assembled in USA,
• Using an Italian (Fiat) designed engine,
• that's manufactured in Germany,
• that drives a Japanese transmission.

GM using the "best parts available to it" shocker!
Now if only they did that all the time...
