Love your story and emphasize. I get a lot of rubber-neckers and people wearing "What the hell is this guy doing?" expressions. On my latest Highway test I had a flogged out lowered Subaru station wagon full of teenagers slow down and take a video. The kid with the camera gave me an exaggerated thumbs up and a smile like "Keep thinking your cool buddy". I just smiled and waved.

I wouldn't call that ruining someone's day. People (including truckers) are inconsiderate all the time. I'm tailgated constantly in the right lane if I'm at ~55-65mph depending on the road/conditions by truckers. The second we pass a CHP patrol car they give me a good 10 car lengths. I've seen three cars take up four lanes at a red light. It's the same old same old, people drive however they want to drive provided it's within the law for the most part. Only a few people drive to make things easier for others. Like everything else, most are out for themselves based on what kind of driving they're comfortable with.

Trucking is where I learned how to manage energy better, especially when I was buying my own fuel.
That stuff can get expensive!

I'm of the opinion that I just try not to bug people too much. Always funny when someone stomps on it to pass because they're tired of my pace.
If its 55mph zone and some comes behind me with no passing lane, I'll move or do 55.
On the other hand, if they can pass me and choose not to, no mercy. The road from my house is downhill to the first stoplight. I coast down every morning and let the engine warm up a bit. The other day a pickup truck came behind me and acted as if he wanted to pass. Dotted yellow line, no traffic in sight, he stayed behind me and had a disgusted look on his face. I kept my pace.

Wasn't that in "Revenge of the Nerds"?
99Metro- Famous and Infamous, welcome to the club . One of our customers lives in one of the little towns I drive through on my way to work, and his 6 year old daughter looks for " the fishy car"(mine) every morning . I guess the tail does look kinda like a fish.

Remember Rickey Nelson's song: Garden Party? You can't please everybody, so
please yourself!
My favorite fight song would be the old Argent song: Hold Your Head Up!
Should be must listen song for any ecomodder whose ever lived!!!

Maybe i think differently, if someone is behind me and wants to go faster i will do the speed limit. I will not coast to a stop if someone is behind me.
The reason i do this is, even though they piss me off when they tail me or try to pass me when it's unsafe, i will rather do the speed limit and keep them happy then piss them off more so they try to pass me and kill someone or themselves. To me it's just not worth getting someone so mad (that i'm driving too slow) and causing them to do something stupid and hurt/kill someone. Even if they are running late for work, it's a crazy and busy world, i'd hate to be the reason someone loses their job because i drove too slow.
Yes i know someone will say "well it's their fault they didn't wake up earlier" and yes that's true but I don't wanna be the reason their kids have to suffer because mom or dad lost their job.
That's just my $0.02

Are semis in CO allowed to do 65 mph in a 65 mph zone? I know that here, anything hauling a trailer is SUPPOSED to be doing 55 mph (even if the posted speed is 70 mph).
