Architect here. I got on this site to hopefully motivate me to get better mileage out of my civic. I also have a 82 honda passport 70cc that I want to use for commuting, hope to get 125mpg like everyone claims. Also would like to add a shield for increased aerodynamics and top speed(OEM top speed is only 45-50mph). Whenever I finally get a house I would love to have a full EV car to commute in.
2008 Yaris, 1990 Civic Si, 1982 Honda Passport(not running).

I realize some new members are using this thread to say "hello" instead of starting a dedicated thread in the Intro forum. Which is fine.

If you count as one of those: welcome to EcoModder!

Hi,
I am a retired firefighter/paramedic now working part-time for my former fire department as their Homeland Security grants manager and volunteer coordinator. I also work as an emergency management consultant assisting other local gov't agencies with their emergency plans, training and exercises.

I've been an avid fitness, motorcycling and car racing enthusiast for many years and enjoy doing my own automotive repairs and maintenance. This website and its outstanding contributors have been a great resource in my pursuit of my new hobby of hypermiling. While reducing costs is good, I am interested in achieving maximal fuel economy for increased efficiency and to reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil.

This is a wonderful online community, thank you for letting me participate.
Vic

Yup, I'm one of them (figure I'de keep the thread count down by posting here first).

I'm a student at Oakland University, and I'm studying Marketing for my major. Currently at junior status. I switched programs a few times and schools as well. Started in Auto-Tech at Ferris State. Then I was undecided for a while at Macomb Community College where I studied Drafting, Electrical Engineering, Architectural, and CAD. I just found all the other areas easy for me, but business captivated and interested me, so i stuck with that as my focus in school.

I volunteer all my time because I don't believe in money.

How do I survive? It's not easy, but some people find me worth having around.

I'm grateful for everyone, everything, and every day of my life.

keep on cruising everyone!

This has probably already been answered, but...

The show is highly edited just like today's "reality shows". Or as some put it, assisted reality. When things happen and the drivers *****, I'm sure that's real, just not the whole truth.

Yeah, I could tell they were playing us when that one dude went "lost" overnight. They didn't mention the possibility of the way-station-island until after the commercial. The second season went downhill when they went to the new location and the previous season's dudes started to bellyache and dropout. But most of these shows only have about 1 season of content in them anyway.
