Yeah but we bought them from the merkins so they probably have some secret squirrel way of turning them off. We'll buy the next lot from France maybe just to annoy them

Anyway this is not the first time my arse has been declared an international weapon of mass destruction...

Maybe, but I'm sure you have your countries version of them.

You need to google the EU.

And also check where the apostrophe may be used I think you will find it is "...your country's version..."

And AFAIK neither are expressing a desire to restrict my bottom as yet, although I'm sure that the EU is planning something...

I seem to be motivated by all of them equily
A) Save Money 20%
B) Reduce CO2 20%
C) Polution 20%
D) Fun 20%
E) The Challenge 20% Can I walk the talk about being "GREEN"

As I state the challenge is " Can I reduce my carbon foot print to 80% below present averages without giving up any of the modern conviniances?"
after 2 or 3 years I am at around 60% below the average and have only given up wastfullness.

Yep. Punish 'em. Jail sentence. Feed 'em prison food. Think that will cure flatulence? Someone once told me the reason schools and prison facilities look the same is because they are built by the same contractors and the same applies to the food served in both.

On a slightly different note - one of my favorite bumper stickers to ward off tailgaters is the one that says: "Back off, or I'll fart."

I saw an old post of yours talking about a patent on something like the Kamper Hydristor, being used for a flywheel system to recover braking energy. Ever move that forward? I wish something like that were available on the market; my car gets great highway mileage but poor stop-and-go mileage.

Finding a community of empiricists . . . not everyone but a much higher ratio than found elsewhere. I'm not expecting perfection . . . the ashes of 'planned communities' are enough to killl that illusion. Rather, I came seeking those who might understand, to the limits of their abilities, how I see reality as just a great series of experiments . . . until we die.

This afternoon, I had someone challenge my report of an obscure problem between "Windows XP Professional" and web certificates. The details are unimportant but I went to chat with him and . . . well he misunderstood what I was trying to explain. But I offered him a chance to test his understanding and when I left at 5:00 PM, he agreed with me about the problem. Along the way, I learned some details, not important to the core problem but useful no less. So in my eyes, this skeptic has moved up a notch and that is how a reputation is earned, small nudges.

It is nice to know you are not alone.

Bob Wilson
