Kudos!!!

You musta got a 'good' one!

BTW, you'll figure this out on your own, but...

You should start looking for a gas station @ around 400-425 miles (trip meter)...

The reason I mention this is, Honda CiViCs come with a 'low level fuel indicator', but they seldom work after a couple of years. It a well documented design flaw, sooo... don't try to run it down until 'the light' comes on, or you'll be walking!

My theory is, the 'low level' sensor gets coated with deposits and quits working...

Thanks, BlackDeuceCoupe.

I didn't know HX has a low fuel indicator. Dang, an idiot light in case you don't want to observe the fuel gauge?? I LIKE watching my gauges! Hope they keep working always.

Anyway, I also figured HX is good for ~400 miles before a fillup. Which is much better than the @~260 I get in the Volvo. Don't get me wrong - I love the Volvo for some of its qualities, not the least of which is that it's nearly indestructible, and that includes the engine and auto tranny. But it looks like I'm nearly doubling my mpg with the HX vs. the Volvo.

My "idiot light" fades in and out. The longer you drive into the reserve the brighter it gets and stays on longer. I can usually push the car another 100 miles once the light goes on but honda's get a little hard to start once gas gets under 1 gallon left.

My gauge sweep is pretty much exactly 6 gallons used to indicated half tank, 10 gallons used when hitting "E", and almost 2 gallons left after the light starts freaking out

Exactly how mine does. Fading in and out. Hard to start once it gets low.

Above F is about 1 gallon
From F to 1/2 is about 5 gallons
From 1/2 to warning light fully lit is about 4 gallons.

I don't like to run it below that, because of the hard starting issue.

Thought I would bump a good freinds purchase post. Wow, it has been a while. This thread got me started on on the quest to make the perfect HX powered gas getter. Thanks Bruce!
